Portland Born To Run Festival The Born To Run Festival is a trail running festival held on the Saturday of the October Long Weekend. In 2026 - 3rd October. Entries will open in April 2026.

It is held at "The Foundations" Portland NSW. Races: 2k Kids, 5k, 10k and Half Marathon.

Are you wanting to take part in the 2026 Born To Run Festival?
Here are the all important start times.
Bib Collection will be available from the Portland RSL Event Village on the Friday afternoon before the race (2nd October) between 4 and 6pm and on race morning from 6am.
Please Note: Entries close on 30th September, unless sold out earlier. There are no entries available on the day.
To avoid disappointment in missing out, please consider registering earlier rather than later as the festival is capped this year at 150 across all 4 races.

It's less than 40 Days until you get to enjoy the beauty of the trails that are inside The Foundatons, formerly known as the Portland Cement Works.
A mixture of single track, fire trails, and grass await runners and walkers as you run past the old quarries that are now lakes, past historic buildings, and finish in the shadows of the famous Silo Art by Guido van Helten .
The Born To Run Festival is presented by Portland Pharmacy, Zig Zag Brewery and Portland Bakery, and will be held on Saturday 3rd October 2026.
Entries are limited to 150 participants across all 4 races, with no entries available on the day.

We are looking for a few more people to join our enthusiastic volunteer team at this year's Born To Run Festival on Saturday 3rd October 2026.
There are a variety of roles to fill including:
- Course Marshalling
- Race Bib Pick Up
- Assisting in the Recovery Zone
- Assisting in Trophy Presentation
- Medal Presentations
- Car Park Meet & Greet
- Event Village Set Up and Pack Up (Friday Night 2nd October for set up and early Saturday afternoon 3rd October for pack up)

Runners and walkers from across the region have an abundance of racing events to participate in from now until the October Long Weekend.
It all starts this weekend in the land of wine and honey with the Mudgee Running Festival .
A fortnight later, on Father's Day, the Dubbo Stampede will be held in Dubbo.
Then, Bathurst will host the 50th and final Edgell Jog Bathurst on Sunday 20th September.
A week later, the local running events head to the trails with the Lonely Mountain Ultra in Orange across the last weekend of September, before our very own Portland Born To Run Festival attracting participants to the trails of The Foundations in Portland NSW on the Saturday of the October Long Weekend.
6 weeks of running heaven - which events are you signed up for?
And it doesn't stop there with Mount Panorama Punish and Carcoar Cup Running Festival being held in late October and early November.
