We are truly saddened and devastated to announce that the Howling Moon Blues Festival will not go ahead as planned on the June long weekend this year. As organisers we acknowledged the fluidity of the COVID pandemic and at this point in time, team members have decided not to pursue the festival in a restricted format which they believe would subsequently compromise the enjoyment of the fans of the festival. We send our apologies to all those people who were looking forward to a June event. We have worked continuously for the past 12 months in the hope it would happen.

It’s Kara’s Birthday today! Kara is one special lady. Co-owner of the festival, she keeps all our VIP’s in style, ensures they are well fed and watered! She makes important decisions around bringing you this awesome festival.

We are the Howling Moon Family. We miss you all and should have some big announcements coming your way soon.

Howling Moon Festival is an annual event dedicated to bringing some of the best Blues and Roots artists to the Mid North Coast.

Today would have been festival day! Our Howling Moon day. We’ve woken up to perfect weather, the Black Duck Brewery is looking better than ever, we would have been so excited to see your faces. Our VIP room was set to be luxe chic and more stunning than ever. We had pulled pork burgers planned for you and street food as per your request. We had three stages this year and more bars and areas to sit as we were able to secure more space. And of course the music was next level! We are so excited and eager to be back next year. We miss you all! Happy Howling Moon Day 🐺

Hey Howlers! We've been quiet on the home front as we have been waiting to hear if restrictions are going to be lifted for Music Festivals this year. We feel like it could be unrealistic to expect the festival to operate in 2020.

We've been talking with all our stakeholders and at this stage it looks like we will be rescheduling for 2021. Keep an eye on the page for further updates.

We are so sorry for any inconvenience caused. Love Troy, Kara, Lisa and Trav .... arrrooooooooooo.

It is with a very heavy heart, as Producers of the Howling Moon Blues Festival, that we announce that the Festival will not go ahead as planned this June long weekend. We considered various scenarios and had discussions with stakeholders to see if there was a way to circumvent the cancellation. Unfortunately, at this stage, following consultation with local government – and since Prime Minister Scott Morrison advised definitively that events with more than 500 punters should cancel, we have no choice but to follow this advice.

We know this decision affects a variety of people. The Hastings LGA, the venue, the ticket holders, the artists, our contractors, our sponsors, suppliers and volunteers. And we are really sorry as it is out of our control.

Special thanks for understanding to Black Duck Brewery, Port Macquarie-Hastings Council, Charles Sturt University, Offtherayles, HalfCut, Mick Sheppo, East Coast Music, and all the artists, our audience and the people we work with.

We look forward to announcing a new date in 2020, as soon as this s**t fight is over.
