The District Council of Grant are developing a Coastal Adaptation Strategy to protect our communities from coastal hazards into the future.

The document will focus on strategies to safeguard our coastal townships of Carpenter Rocks, Pelican Point, Blackfellows Caves, Nene Valley, Cape Douglas, Port MacDonnell, Racecourse Bay, Eight Mile Creek, and Donovans.

Interested community members are invited to attend an upcoming community workshop to find out more from Councilโ€™s coastal management expert and provide your input on adaptation options.

The Limestone Coast Landscape Board was proud to be a part of the Bayside Festival over the weekend in Pt MacDonnell.

Celebrating the event with a free Walking the Seasons session at Germein Reserve on Friday, our education team supported local Elder Uncle Doug to deliver an interesting and inspiring session about our landscape on Country with a First Nations perspective.

If you would like to join us for our next free Walking the Seasons session on 5 March at Canunda National Park please register.

This project is supported by the Foundation for Rural Regional Renewal (FRRR), through funding from the Australian Governmentโ€™s Future Drought Fund. The community Walking the Seasons program aims to support the Limestone Coast to be better prepared for drought and dry times by learning more about seasonal changes in our own landscape and understand how First Nations people lived and moved through the landscape. This development of localised knowledge and skills helps to grow community resilience and preparedness through communities walking together in nature.
