Our first full length review from the beautiful Perth-based Writer and Theatre Aficionado, Claire Bowen of Claire Bowen Management 🙀

"This show is theatrical storytelling at its richest and purest.
Ingelbrecht has put a wonderful new story on stage in the words of the real-life protagonists, and this alone transports the audience. But Shirley Van Sanden and Nichola Renton build a rich world for the audience to safely inhabit as the emotionally charged story unfolds. Renton and Van Sanden are on an empty stage, of anything but spotlights, but the audience experiences 19th Century London and Paris as clear as day, a testament to the power of their performances, the deep understanding of the characters in the text, and the skill and dedication of the creative team."

So you can see what she's talking about, don't miss out!

👤Introducing… Shirley Van Sanden has been very fortunate in her acting career to have toured nationally and internationally with various shows. She enjoys acting best but has had to wear writer, director and most reluctantly producer hats as well. She is rather fond of hats 🎩

📖Her favourite literary character is… Dracula. Bram Stoker's Count has been a constant presence in my life since staring wide eyed at garish posters of Christopher Lee baring his fabulous fangs as a very small child. Dracula was a pivotal role for me as a High School student and later prompted me to cross Bran Castle and Transylvania in general off my bucket list. Possibly my favourite portrayal of the Count is Leslie Neilson's from Mel Brooks' "Dracula, dead and loving it"

👤Introducing… Nichola Margaret is an award winning actress and has been the Creative Director of the Actors Workshop since 2000. In this capacity, she teaches acting classes and directs performance courses for Adult, Teen and Primary aged students.

📖Her favourite literary character is… Titania from Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” because she is ambitious, gets to lie around all day eating berries and is Queen of the fairies!

👤Introducing… Chris John Horgan is a professional videographer, musician, digital AV specialist and the principal of Organic Productions. His theatre and film credits, as part of Fragmented Artists, have included The Dan-Nan-Ron and P R E S E N T E S! and the audiovisual loops for the recent Sense and Sensitivity exhibition at the John Curtin Art Gallery. Chris is a mainstay of the popular folk band The JarrahCelts, with whom he plays a variety of Irish pipes and percussion instruments in a fusion of Celtic-Australiana music.

📖His favourite literary figure is… Well I haven’t read a book of fiction for a couple of decades – so nothing of interest to mention there. Instead I’ve been performing music since I was probably 10 years old on the silver flute. From there I have been involved with community music throughout my life – which has taken me on a journey from Australia, though to Ireland, Scotland, and Spain. My mother was a potter come painter and my father was one of Australia’s first computer programmers, so I guess that had set the foundation for me to become a digital artist.

👤Introducing… Danika Bentley has been participating in community theatre since she was 14 and is now completing her Bachelor of Creative Arts majoring in Theatre at Curtin university. In doing so, she has come to discover not only a love for acting, but also many tech roles such as costume design and stage management.

📖Her favourite literary author is… Roald Dahl, author of many childhood favourites. I have countless memories of my dad reading Roald Dahl to me before bed and then reading the books myself as I developed my own love for reading.

👤Introducing… Yvette Drager Wetherilt is a multi-award-winning makeup artist who has worked professionally in live theatre for over 30 years. In this time she has also worked professionally in film, television and online content in a variety of roles including director, production manager, stage manager, actor and voice over artist.

📖Her favourite literary author… Terry Pratchett is one of my favourite authors.
His style of crafting characters that the reader can identify with and unique worlds coupled with a beautiful way he uses language is why he is an author I admire (as well as read on repeat).
