We’re bringing back our beachside event hub with food, drinks and great vibes, making it the perfect place to soak up the festival atmosphere before and after your run.

ENTRIES OPEN 22 MARCH 🙌

The GNW Trail Running Festival is back and we’re heading to beautiful Patonga Beach for a day on the trails.

With 10km, 30km and 50km distances on offer, there’s something for everyone — new to trail running or chasing a big challenge. Expect scenic coastal trails, some tough climbs, flowing single track and plenty of incredible views along the way.

Run it, hike it, race it — however you tackle it, it’s going to be a great day out on the Central Coast.

Mark your calendars —
The GNW Trail Running Festival is happening on 20th September this year, with entries opening on 22nd March.

This iconic trail running event celebrates the stunning natural beauty of New South Wales’ Central Coast and offers runners something truly special.

With spectacular Scenery -
The courses wind through some of the sections of the Great North Walk, a legendary 250 km track running between Sydney and Newcastle, known for its rich bushland, coastal views, and lush forests.

Choose Your Challenge -
With race distances of 10 km, 30 km, and 50 km, there’s a challenge for every level. From steep ascents and forest trails to creek crossings and single-track bushland, every kilometre is packed with adventure.

📅 Important Dates to Know
👉 20th September — Race day this year
👉 22nd March — Entries open

A huge thank you to our volunteers.
Once again, our incredible volunteers have gone above and beyond to support the event and every runner on the course. From the aid stations and water stops to registration and the race hub—you make it all possible. We truly couldn’t create such a successful and memorable event without each of you.

From the early hours of registration to the final moments at the race hub, you were there with smiles, encouragement, and helping hands, and suncream ;).

On behalf of the organisers, the runners, and everyone involved—we thank you. This event simply wouldn’t be possible without you.

The Coast Runners Shop has long been a dedicated part of the GNW Trail Running Festival community. Year after year, their support goes far beyond providing the fantastic prizes our runners love. Behind the scenes, they put in countless hours helping with the organisation of race bags and contributing in ways that often go unseen, but are absolutely essential to making the event a success.

We are so grateful for their passion, generosity, and commitment to our trail running community. A huge thank you once again to Margaret and the team from Coast Runners Shop for being such an important part of the GNW family.

A new addition this year that went down incredibly well was a supply of Heaps Normal beer waiting at the finish line. There’s nothing better than celebrating with a refreshing non-alcoholic beer after all the hard work, and it was clear how much everyone enjoyed it. From all of us, a huge thank you to Heaps Normal for helping make the finish even more special.

GNW 50km – done, dusted, and absolutely smashed! A massive congratulations to every single runner who took on this beast of a course. It’s one of the toughest runs out there, and you showed grit, determination, and pure trail spirit. We couldn’t be prouder of how many of you stepped up to run on Sunday.

Congratulations to the top three male and female finishers and to all the age category winners.
