From the local courts of the Brisbane Dodgeball League to the rise of the Queensland Dingoes, the growth of dodgeball in Queensland has been heartwarming to witness.

Driven by a dedicated community and a passionate team of volunteers, the soon-to-be-launched Queensland Dodgeball Association (QDA) is stepping up to host the 2026 Australian Dodgeball Championships: States.

Coming to the State Netball Centre in Nathan, this event will once again showcase the premier talent each state has to offer. It also provides a vital opportunity for The Australian Dodgeroos coaches to see key athlete talent during their best before we head to Thailand for the World Dodgeball Championships.

ADCC is the pinnacle of elite dodgeball in Australia. It’s where months of hard work across our state leagues culminate in the ultimate opportunity for clubs to prove they’re the best of the best.

To ensure the competition remains as fierce and exciting as possible, we will be trialling a Representative Player Cap (ARC) for the 2026 edition.

We know our Dodgeroos and State reps are world-class—they’ve earned that status. This policy isn’t about holding them back; it’s about spreading that elite talent to ensure a fairer, more balanced competition for everyone. By introducing these caps, we’re ensuring that ADCC winners take home medals based on club depth, tactical coaching, and team chemistry—not just star power.

For our elite players, this creates a more level playing field to truly test their skills and spread their expertise. For our emerging players, it opens up more opportunities to step up and own key roles on the national stage.

We’re looking to build a future where every club, in every state, has a genuine shot at gold if they put in the work. A rising tide lifts all boats, and we can’t wait to see the new stars that emerge in 2026.

The full trial policy and cap numbers for each division are live at the link below.
