There was once a night known as the

Bucket Lounge over at Bondi. From there the night birthed itself at Mr Falcons in Glebe as "Live & Originals @ Mr Falcons". We gave birth to "Originals @ 616" on Feb 2nd 2015 - showtimes are the first and fifth Monday of each month. This is an exciting newish venue offering the best in contemporary music from jazz to world, to classical, to jazz crossover and new/improvised music - they've opened their front doors to be a platform for our night to spotlight up & coming independent artists and the not so up & coming independent artist. Our night consists of 3 acts of original independent performers - everything from folk to reggae to ska to spoken word and all that goes on between. Each performer gets about 30 - 40 mins on the stage. There'll be a $10.00 door tix ($5 for JMC & TAFE students) with ALL donations going to the performers that play that night. At the end of the night, the $$$ is divvied up between the 3 acts. This is a night for independent artists, some have CDs & some don't. It gives the artist a chance to showcase their music or spoken word, to promote & sell their CD; and as a platform to just get out there and start to make connections. Singers, songwriters and performers are welcome to play here and to gain some recognition and to promote/sell their CD. Feel free to contact us to be part of our musical community. Hey all,

Here's the deal - Foundry 616 is an awesome venue with a great stage, a soundman to die for and to top it off, a baby grand - elements that made this a great place.

Unfortunately despite AWEsome acts on the nights we held Originals at 616, we did not fill the venue, thus financially it was not a win-win situation.

I am in the process of looking for another venue to stage this in addition to "Live & Originals Falcons" on Tuesday nights.

There are performers booked in all the way through to August and I want to give these people a fair go. So once I have the new venue secured, I can switch all the booked in performers over to the new venue.

If you have ANY bright ideas on the ideal venue to use for showcasing independent artists, please message me. I want a win-win situation for ALL involved - the venue, the performers and myself. I have Tuesday nights covered with Mr Falcons.

Hey folk! Our night of Originals at 616 as sponsored by Foundry616 is usually on on the 1st Monday of each month (and the 5th where there is a 5th Monday)..... but in May we are going to be on on the 18th of May - that's the 3rd Monday in the month. Just for May ONLY.

Last night was a massive night for Originals at 616. A night of diverse performers that culminated in Savilian joining in with The Mesclados as the finale. Damn pretty for good for an impromptu act.

Big thanks go out to all our performers last night - Katherine Vavahea, Mr Ti, Savelberg, Charli Simons Music accompanied by Shane and then the Mesclados - Jerry L. Rayner, David Da Costa & Katherine Vavahea.

To our audience - you guys are the bomb! Thank you for supporting LIVE & ORIGINAL music and performers. Let's keep it alive.

TONIGHT is another night of Originals at 616. Let’s turn this into a standing room only event as we shine the light on these artists and keep live music ALIVE!

This is a night when we spot light independent artists – the up & coming and the not so up & coming. Some have CDs to sell and some don't. But they're all looking for the same thing - an audience to share their love and to bare their soul.

• Matt Savelberg is a Hip-hop artist ( Savilian) who currently lives on the Central Coast of NSW. His brand is characterized by a balanced blend of organic and electronic based music, a witty and punch line fueled writing style. Combined with a charismatic, energetic and engaging live show. He has 4 solo releases and a variety of collaborations/features to his name, spanning across 2009-2014. On this night he'll bring you a mix of hip-hop and spoken word.

• Charli Simons is a 19 year old singer/songwriter living in Sydney, originally from Christchurch, NZ, having lived here for 4 years. Singing is her passion, and it is the thing she loves to do the most. She is multi-talented with loves for performance as well as songwriting. She is a luver of all genres and believes in pushing herself out of her comfort zone. Charli is currently studying at Ultimo TAFE, doing her second semester of Diploma in Performance music. Tonight Shane will acompany her on piano, with the ukulele coming out for one song!

• The Mesclados - are a Soul, Funk, R n B ensemble bringing you live soul vibes. Mesclados means " Mixed Blood" - the origin of the word is both Spanish and Portuguese. The members of the band hail from all parts of the globe with a commonality and passion for making music, hence the name. They are unified through their passion & love of music; their rich & diverse cultural heritage,their family and Spiritual foundation.

The night kicks off at 7:30 pm with the music ending around 10:30. It’s $10 at the door (TAFE & JMC students $5 at the door) and all proceeds go to the artists.
