The week has flown by since our pacing cup and there are lots of Thank You’s and gratitude to share. Firstly to Greggs Electrical and their families for sponsorship of the club that has spanned probably 20 years or more. The community has been so lucky to have such a generous and supportive business in our district. To Malcolm Retallick, Walter Munro and John Cattanach for having the track in such superb condition. To our race sponsors, their generosity allows us to have rug for each race winner. Our committee members and other community members, some who put in hours worth of work in the lead up to the event and on the day to ensure everything comes together. Thank you to Bernard Saundry and his lovely wife Sam from the HRV Board for making the time to attend and be a part of our Pacing Cup. To Barb and Jeff Nunn who every year put their hands up for a job. The Mildura Harness Racing Club for their ongoing support with personnel and equipment also Terry Hanson for driving the mobile. Thank you Dean and Marc Peters for their track attendant work all day. Geoff Hahnel and Riley O’Connor for making themselves available to attend, and their help in preparing the area. Thanks to Mark West for his mowing and making the place look as good as it did. To Leo O’Callaghan for being our ever reliable numbers room attendant, he has announced his retirement this year if so if anyone is looking for a job next year😀To Julie Smith for offering her time to be our swab attendant, to our fantastic supporter Ian Campbell for filling a role for me at short notice👍 Massive thanks to anyone who donated to our “Pacing for Pink “ raffle, and anyone who bought tickets and congratulations to the lucky winner Axel. Thanks to Mel, Tamika and Nick for helping Maddy and Lucy in the kitchen and anyone that cooked for us. Thanks to Tate for helping the boys in the bar and thank you to Weir Family for the use of their cool room. Paul Campbell for excellent MC work and all his social media coverage, very much appreciated. Thanks to Northwest butchers for their donation to the event, the generosity of our local small businesses is never taken for granted and always appreciated. To all the stall holders, and entertainment providers for attending to help us make this a great family day for the community, and thanks to Tenae for managing the market stalls. Thanks to all the participants for entering horses and supporting racing in Ouyen. Congratulations to all race winners and connections and to Matt Craven for winning the Cup again and thank you for sharing that special occasion with some of our local kids❤️. And a huge thank you to the local community that come along to enjoy the day and keep harness racing alive @ Blackburn Park. My apologies if I have forgotten anyone or I couldn’t tag you, it is such a massive effort and we couldn’t do it with out everyone’s help.
