🚨 🚨 50K COURSE UPDATE AND NEW 50K GPX 🚨 🚨

As noted in the Race Guide that launched on Friday, due to forestry activity, all runners completing the 50K loop (50K, 50M, 104K and 100M) will follow a detour from approximately 11.6km. Around 10km of new terrain will take runners along clearly marked fire trails before rejoining the original course prior to Rosebank Aid Station.

The detour will be clearly signposted and marshalled, with no active logging during race weekend. An updated GPX has been added to the race pages on our website for 50K, 50M, 104K and 100M.

Importantly, there is no change to overall race distances. To compensate, runners will bypass the Fern Gully loop after Tea House Aid Station, continuing up Mount Canobolas Road before turning left onto Spring Glade Trail towards the summit.

Follow the signs, follow the marshals and enjoy some brand new LMU terrain!

Shout out to NSW Forestry for supporting the LMU and looking after our mountain, they’ve been the legends managing environmental sustainability, tourism, and renewable timber production in NSW’s State-owned native and plantation forests for over a century. Without the Lonely Mountain, the Lonely Mountain Ultra can’t happen, so huge thanks to these guys for all their work.

Make sure you look after the mountain on race day legends, take your rubbish with you, clean your gear where necessary and respect the slopes of Gaanha-bula.

Spring has sprung LMU legends, and Mount Canobolas is looking fresher than ever. Only TWO WEEKS until the Lonely Mountain Ultra, but it wouldn’t be happening this year without our amazing sponsors. Bush tracks on the mountain are splendid both on and off race day, and Orange has some STUNNING parks you can check out in town.
