The Lismore Gemfest community joins with the wider gem, mineral, and fossicking community in mourning the passing of Ron "Ronnie" Jillett.
Many of our exhibitors, collectors, and visitors will have fond memories of meeting Ronnie through the Emmaville Mining Museum and the fossicking community he loved so much. His passion for minerals, local mining history, and sharing knowledge with others helped inspire generations of rockhounds and collectors.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Ronnie's family, friends, and the volunteers at the Emmaville Mining Museum.

The Emmaville Mining Museum has suffered a sad loss with the passing of Mr Ron Jillett, known as Ronnie to his many friends.
Ronnie was the mainstay and public face of the mining museum for over a quarter of a century. Ronnie lived his entire eighty six years in the Tent Hill Emmaville area and was an avid fossiker all his life. He was always willing to share his wealth of knowledge with the many museum visitors. Ronnie's vast mineral collection is housed in the museum and it is certain that he would be happy in the knowledge that his collecting efforts will bring joy to the museum visitors for many years to come. Ronnie will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
