AMC Pasta Bridge Competition

AMC Pasta Bridge Competition Pasta Bridge Competition 2021 - 14th of May @ seafarers Bar! The bridges must span over a 1000 mm gap and weigh less than 1000 grams.

The pasta bridge competition is problem based learning activity in Mechanics of Solids, a second year unit offered by AMC's National Centre for Maritime Engineering and Hydrodynamics. As part of this activity teams of students must use their engineering knowledge and skills to design, build and test to destruction bridges made of commercially available pasta. The bridges are designed and construct

ed according to an international set of rules developed by the Okanagan College in Canada (http://www.okanagan.bc.ca/Assets/Departments+%28Administration%29/Public+Affairs/Spaghetti+Bridge/2012/Heavyweight+Rules.pdf). The bridge which holds the largest weight before failure is declared the winner.
