Newy parkrun RUN REPORT #692
12th September 2026
What a stunning parkrun morning - clear skies, flat glistening river, and 620 happy smiley parkrunners to cover our 5km course.
43 were first timers with 19 completing their first ever parkrun and 24 first time visitors.
87 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 28 different clubs took part.

We've tried our best this morning with results, the volunteers at the finish line were top notch, but we were light on with funnel managers and they worked extra hard to keep track of the multiple funnel duckers (people who check out of the funnel before receiving their finish token) and queue jumpers (who try and overtake others in the funnel to take their finish position and therefore time). It makes our results synching extra hard. We really do need at least 4 funnel managers each week so you can be sure that everything is in order. Please consider a volunteer week so yuo can experience parkrun from the other side.

PARKING COMPAINT - Someone this morning parked in a bus stop zone. We don't know if it was a parkrunner or a customer of another local event / establishment but we shoulder the complaints. Please remember to park legally, responsibly and with an eye to our neighbours' driveways so they are not inconvenienced.

Reminder- u11 children MUST be accompanied by an adult.
There were unaccompanied children on course this morning.
These have been reported to HQ as an incident and breach of parkrun rules.
Safeguarding (especially child safety) is of utmost importance and your cooperation is appreciated.
