NATIONAL CARNIVAL ANNOUNCEMENT — NEWCASTLE 2026

AFL Masters National and are pleased to announce the appointment of Garry Burkinshaw as the 2026 Newcastle Carnival Co-Ordinator.

Garry brings an outstanding administrative background to the role, having spent over a decade across key AFL NSW positions — including 10 years with Black Diamond AFL and 6 years as Senior Football Operations Manager with AFL Sydney.

His primary focus will be the successful delivery of the 2026 National Carnival in Newcastle, while also stepping into the NSW team as a State Development Officer. In this role, Garry will help drive participation through Family Kick, and work alongside Ed Reddin to support the continued growth of Female participation in NSW Masters.

AFL Masters NSW is delighted to welcome someone of Garry’s calibre and experience to the team as we head into an exciting 12 months of planning and growth.
