Is sushi withdrawal a real thing? - my mum Sylvia thinks so!!!

Either way, the good news is the wait is almost over!

Our friends at Kitchen Koo are back from their well-earned break, and from next Wednesday, 10th June we'll once again be able to satisfy those sushi cravings.

Fresh, delicious, handmade sushi is back on the menu and we couldn't be happier.

The next Derwent Valley Repair Cafe is tomorrow. Find them at The Studio, behind Create Do and Mend by the ArtHouse at 63 High Street New Norfolk. Access via the laneway by Derwent Real Estate. And there’s parking if needed, behind BWS off Stephen St.

Just over 24 hours before the next Derwent Valley Repair Cafe. If you have things that need some attention - general repairs, tool sharpening, computer or phone issues, sewing repairs, wooden furniture fixes, IT concerns, crockery and china repairs……,. The list is endless. If you can carry it, bring it and spend some time with our amazing Fixer Volunteers. 🔔

[INKub8tor] After 5 wonderful years of words, ideas, laughter, vulnerability, courage, connection and creativity… it feels like the right time for INKub8tor to take a little pause.

What began as a space for spoken word, poetry, prose and creative exploration became so much more because of every single person who walked through the doors and shared a piece of themselves. Whether you came once, came often, read aloud, listened quietly, encouraged others, or simply held space in the room — thank you. You helped shape something truly special.

For now, we’re putting the group on hold to allow time for renewed creativity, rest, reflection and preparing what comes next. We’re not sure how long the pause will be, but this is not goodbye forever.

To our beautiful community of writers, thinkers, storytellers and humans — thank you for being part of the journey. We’ll be in touch when the time feels right again.

Until then… keep writing.

Well… we thought we’d be reopening tomorrow!!!

But after a few weeks of giving the artHouse a much-needed refresh (and giving our slightly frazzled staff a chance to remember what sleep feels like), we’ve realised we need just one more day to put the finishing touches on things.

So instead of Friday (tomorrow), we’ll be reopening on Saturday 23rd from 8.30am — perfectly timed to jump back into the wonderful Saturday market festivities!

The walls are fresher, the team is recharged with plenty of stories to share and we absolutely cannot wait to welcome everyone back through the doors.

Thank you for your patience while we tidy, tweak and shuffle furniture around 17 times - sorry Dave!!!

Now the dust has settled on the Tasmanian Autumn Festival & David and I have had a moment to rest and reflect. We wanted to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to the incredible committee behind it all Derwent Valley and Central Highlands Tourism Association Inc

From booked out workshops, basketmaking, watercolour painting, oil painting, printmaking, a couple of successful exhibitions, Repair Cafe, INKub8tor, busy busy cafe with sold out food items, knitting squares together to keep our community warm this Winter and so many wonderful conversations along the way (gee no wonder we are tired!!) — this festival brought new & familiar faces through our doors and reminded us just how special this Valley really is.

A huge thank you to Liz and Sharmaine for the enormous amount of organisation, encouragement, coordination and behind-the-scenes work that made it all possible. Events like these don’t just happen by accident, and we are so grateful for the passion and energy poured into creating opportunities for our business and our community to showcase itself, connect, create and celebrate together.

Thank you for including us in such a beautiful festival season — we already can’t wait for next year.
