Brisbane Powerhouse is Queensland’s home for contemporary culture, a magnificent power station of the 1920s reborn as an arts centre on the Brisbane River. With over 1,250 performances and events each year, we are one of the busiest arts venues in the Asia-Pacific region. Rubber Duck is coming to YOU! 🦆💗

We know you’ve missed Rubber Duck… and Rubber Duck has missed you too! So for one last hurrah before Melt Festival wraps up, Florentijn Hofman’s pink Rubber Duck is making a special farewell appearance on the Brisbane River/Maiwar on Saturday 7 November.

It will arrive in front of Brisbane Powerhouse to meet the Brisbane Pride March before venturing into the city, just past the Story Bridge, and back again.

Grab a spot along the riverbank, bring your crew, and give it the send-off it deserves.

Rubber Duck is taking a rest.

Recent storms and heavy rain have taken a toll on Rubber Duck, so we’ve brought it in from the water until conditions settle.

Living out on the river means it faces the elements like no other artwork, and keeping both our visitors and the duck safe always comes first.

Brisbane, you’ve been incredible. You’ve followed its journey from Brisbane Powerhouse, through the city and back again, and cheered it on at the River Pride Parade. Thank you for all the love.

It’ll be back as soon as it’s safe. Updates will be made on the Melt Festival social media channels and website.

River Pride Parade is continuing as planned on Saturday 24 October.

Due to this week’s weather, Brisbane Pride has made the decision to postpone Fair Day, the Pride Rally and March, originally scheduled for Saturday 24 October. Fair Day will now take place on Saturday 7 November at New Farm Park. Further updates are available through Brisbane Pride’s official channels.

The River Pride Parade will proceed on the Brisbane River at 4pm, and Onesie World, the participatory wearable artwork by Adele Varcoe and Dylan Mooney, will go ahead undercover at Brisbane Powerhouse.

The safety of our audiences, artists, crew and partners remains our priority, and we’re continuing to monitor conditions closely. If anything changes, we’ll update here.

After all, ducks don’t mind a little rain. We look forward to making a splash with you on the river!
