Monday's Medley Par attracted 29 players in blustery conditions. Helen Ellis won A Grade with a pleasing +5, with Sally Draper only one point behind in second place.
B Grade saw Kerry Gardner take the prize on a countback from Dierdre Landells, both with +2. Balls ran down to +1, with NTPs going to Carol Mounsey, Fiona Gaston and Mary Young in their respective grades. Carol was also the lucky Secret 6 winner.

There were 49 very cold players in the field on Wednesday, with 28 of them contesting the September Monthly Medal. Some spectacular scoring across the field saw Nicole Harris take the Medal and A Grade with a fabulous 64 nett. Bettina Wilson finished runner-up with 70 on a countback from Marion Brooks.

Laura Taylor was a popular B Grade winner with 66, followed by Vicky Connaughton on 68, again on a countback from Moira Richards. Balls went down to 73 OCB. Tanya Desmond won the putting prize with a meagre 26 putts.

The remaining 21 Stableford players competed in two grades, with Tania Burr and Jane Blomfield the winners, scoring 37 and 36 points respectively. The Stableford ball rundown went to 34 OCB.

Tania and Laura were the NTP sharpshooters, while Nicole won the Cake Hole, sponsored by The Seahorse Brasserie & Cafe. Nicole also took out the Secret 6 money.

SATURDAY 5th SEPTEMBER

Ever increasing winds made conditions difficult for the later players in the field of 129, where 74 elected to play in the September Monthly Medal.

The A Grade Stroke event was won by Daniel Needham from Massey Park with 65 nett off his handicap of 9 , ahead of Ben Ritchie on 70, who wins the A Grade Medal. Bill Durnan edged out Bob Day on 71 on countback to finish in third place.

In B Grade Peter O'Kane had a memorable day when he went round in a score to equal his age and post an outstanding nett total of 62 off his handicap of 19. Dirk Laginestra was second on 69, while Steven Tate edged out Glenn McInerney on countback on 72 to finish third.

Peter Wilson prevailed in C Grade with
70 nett off his handicap of 21, ahead of David Hille and Wendy Lowe on
74 and 75 respectively.

Meg Butler was the winner of the A Grade Stableford with 36 points off her handicap of 14, ahead of Nigel Roberts and Peter Ward on 35 and 34 points respectively.
In B Grade Mandy Hall took the honours with 41 points off her handicap of 32, with Tony O'Dwyer and Sally Draper in the minor positions on 40 and 38 points respectively.

The nearest-the-pin winners were Ben Ritchie on 3, Michael Turner on 9, Stewart Fowler on 14 with a hole-in-one and Chris Simpson from Murrumbidgee on 17. The ball competition went down to all on 74 nett in the Stroke event and to the start of the 31 points range in the Stableford. RGI

The field of 122 players enjoyed fine weather and good scoring, with the ball competition going down to the first of the 34 points range.
A Grade resulted in a four-way countback on 39 points, with the honours going to Mal Gregor off a handicap of 4 ahead of Chris Heath and Bob Knipler, and David Southwell missed out.
Jack Knipler took out B Grade with the day's best score of 41 points off his handicap of 18, with Peter Jones runner-up on 39 points. A five-way countback on 38 points gave third place to Nigel Roberts ahead of Paul Davey, Geoff Lanham, Peter O'Kane and Karl Knoll.
Craig Petterd was the winner of C Grade with 40 points off his handicap of 23, while Robert Gordon finished second on 39 points on countback from Matt Sproule.

The nearest-the-pin winners were Bill Durnan on 3, David Southwell and Mitch Jeffery on 9, Mitch Jeffery on 14 and Andrew Thompson on 17.

The penultimate round of the Mitchell 4BBB was played in glorious conditions on Sunday 30 August, with 18 teams contesting Round 8.

Rob and Jan Atkinson took the honours with an excellent 48 Stableford points, one clear of Tony and Jan Morrison on 47. Chris Hendra and Robert Cox claimed third place, on a countback, with 46 points. Balls ran down to 43, while Scott Harris recorded the only NTP of the day on the 17th.

With just one round remaining, Chris and Robert lead the overall competition on 215 points, ahead of Robyn and Ross Giblett on 212 and Jayne Hotchkis and Stewie Fowler on 206. Julie Melville and Kevin Phillips sit on 204, with Tanya Desmond and Andrew Thompson close behind on 203. Several other teams are also still within striking distance of the prestigious, and valuable, prize.

The final round is set down for Sunday 11 October and, with the leaderboard still very much alive, it promises to be keenly contested.
