Earlier this year I had a chat with the boys from The Tee Off, and with the registration fee up on last year (extra day of competition), it was definitely a talking point.
Tim Bohan said something that drove me right through the lead-up:
‘We have to put on a quality event that justifies the price.’
One clear way to measure that is value returned to players — and I’m genuinely proud of what the organising team and our sponsors delivered:
✅ 79% of total reg fees returned to players — $22,522 of $28,650
✅ $12,000 pro payout — the highest of any Australian event outside the Aussie Open events
✅ 40%+ paid out in every division, with winners of our biggest divisions taking home $400 in prizes
To set the highest ADGC pro purse ever with ~100 fewer players than recent years is a huge achievement.
More reflection to come once the survey results are compiled — but on value for money, I’m giving this event a big tick.
