Fringe Mount Gambier / Berrin is back from 22 March to 7 April 2024. Fringe Mount Gambier / Berrin is an arts & cultural festival that embraces acceptance and diversity. Running since 2017, the festival provides an opportunity for all artists and venues to participate, shine and be bold, and for the community to experience art that thrills, challenges and provokes curiosity. The festival is run by
community led and non-profit organisation Fringe Berrin Inc; a group of Mount Gambier based artists, production, events / arts workers, and community members striving to ensure our community has a truly unique Fringe festival. In 2024, the festival is excited to introduce FRINGE LANEWAYS! A series of Fringe events taking over selected laneways around the Easter long weekend, including LUMINOUS LANEWAY on Friday 29 March and FRINGE LANEWAY FIESTA (feat. Twilight Markets) on Saturday 30th March. Whilst Fringeland and the Street party take a breather this year, returning in 2025, Fringe Laneways will bring Fringe performances, roving artists, street performers, Twilight markets, DJs and music, kids entertainment, interactive art, showcases of local wine, craft beers and street food to our CBD laneways. Fringe 2024 will also feature a major project with video and light projection artist, Video Architecture (Jim Coad), who will head direct from the Murten Licht Festival (Switzerland) to create (with community) and deliver his projection art onto key Mount Gambier heritage buildings. Roving acts, cabaret, dance, comedy, live music, theatre, visual art, magic and more; the regional city will burst with creative performances, exhibitions and workshops suitable for all ages.
