Important Update: Moruya Blues & Roots Festival 2026
Heya friends, music lovers, and our incredible community!
We wanted to share an important update with you all. After a lot of reflection and discussion, we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone the Moruya Blues & Roots Festival in 2026. This wasn’t easy, we know how much this festival means to so many of you (and to us) but we believe it’s the right choice to protect its future.
A few key reasons have led us here:
• Sustainability first: The events world has been unpredictable since COVID, and we want to make sure that when we bring the festival back, it’s done in a way that’s strong, stable, and sustainable for years to come.
• Rising costs everywhere: With the cost of living and event expenses continuing to climb, keeping tickets affordable while fairly supporting our artists, crew, and suppliers has become a real challenge.
• Accommodation hurdles: One of the biggest surprises has been that some local accommodation providers increased their prices by up to 300% once they became aware of our proposed 2026 dates. This makes it tough not only for festival goers but also for the artists, crew, and suppliers who travel here to make it all happen. We’ve also been working with Council to get approvals for camping and van access, but those processes are still ongoing.
We know this isn’t the news anyone wanted to hear, but please know, our vision and passion for Moruya Blues & Roots are stronger than ever. We’re taking this time to regroup, plan carefully, and make sure the next festival is everything our community deserves: inclusive, sustainable, and full of heart.
Thank you for your understanding, patience, and unwavering support. This community is what makes the festival so special, your love for music, connection, and good times is what keeps us inspired.
We’ll be back and when we are, it’ll be with even more soul, energy, and gratitude than ever!
With love and appreciation,
The Moruya Blues & Roots Team
