The Old Woman Ocean Paddle

The Old Woman Ocean Paddle event is a unique and challenging experience for one man ocean craft, specifically SUP and Ocean/ Spec skis. Paddlers will tackle an iconic course from Mooloolaba Beach around Old Woman Island and return, a distance of around 17 kilometres.

Paddlers of less experience have the opportunity to be part of the action by participating in The Little Woman, a 5km (2 lap) paddle within the confines of the Mooloolaba Beach bay.

Old Woman Island (also referred to as Mudjimba Island) is located about one kilometre off the coast of Mudjimba and can be clearly seen up and down the Sunshine Coast coastline. The name of this landmark evolved from local aboriginal Dreamtime stories and the event will acknowledge and respect this history.

In 2019 the inaugural Old Woman Ocean Paddling Festival will be held on Saturday 14th September and open to males and females of all ages.
