Entries open for the SACWA Warnes Group Lamb Sausage Roll and Lamb Pasty Competition

Entries delivered by 10 am at the Barbara J Long Function Centre at the Clare Town Hall. Judging at 11 am, followed by public tasting for lunch at 11.30am.

Entrants will provide either or both lamb sausage rolls or pasties, with $100 first prize for each category. For entry forms email [email protected]

A $10 entry fee applies for the public tasting, which includes a drink. Cafe 1871 condiments will also have a pop-up bar from 11am – 1pm.

No bookings required.

Slow Food South Australia Snail of Approval Clare Valley venues Watervale Hotel Epicurean Society, The UPPside European Restaurant & Wine Bar - Clare Valley, Reillys Wines and Cafe 1871along with Wunderbar Lamb and Four leaf Milling will feature in this years festival.

Tickets still available for the Watervale Hotel Lamb Cooking Demonstration Wednesday 23 Sept 10 am – 12 noon with Snail of Approval Chef Nicola Palmer and Slow Food SA President Rosa Matto will present an engaging cooking demonstration celebrating the versatility of ethically produced lamb and the traditions of whole-animal cooking. 6-course degustation menu (GF) with 5 paired wines. Head Chef Luke Smith has curated a gourmet six-course degustation menu showcasing the vibrant and authentic flavours of the Clare Valley.
Each gluten-free course includes an element of local Mintaro lamb.

The 2026 Clare Valley Festival of the Lamb 23-27 Sept program provides for many free events throughout the festival to compliment the multitude of dinning experiences that are on offer.

These events include the Mintaro Community Connect Dinner, Arts Collective Clare Valley Exhibition, Clare Valley Festival Of The Lamb/ Wool and Fibre Fair, TAFE SA Flinders University "From Farm to Fashion" Wool Fashion Design Exhibition, Burra Town Hall Merino Pascoe Collection, Flocking of the Sheep Window Displays and the Mustering and Merinos Magic Lantern Show.

Help us find the best window display for this years Flocking of the Sheep exhibition.

The 2026 Clare Valley Festival of the Lamb in partnership with the SACWA Warnes Group and the The Plains Producer have developed a Clare Valley knitted flock of woollen lambs which are on display at nine venues throughout the Valley.

People have created over 120 sheep woollen sheep which at the end of the Festival will be rounded up and made available for the SACWA Baby Parcels and Emergency Aid.

Voting slips can be found in this weeks edition of the Plains Producer or at the participating stores (which includes both the Clare and Balaklava Offices of the Plains Producer).
