This year’s Kaye Hannam Determination Award was proudly presented to Brendan McSwain whose strength and resilience truly embody the spirit of Relay for Life.

Brendo has faced an incredibly tough year with the recent heartbreaking loss of his mum to cancer. Despite his own physical and emotional battles throughout the event, sunnrounded by friends he pushed through with remarkable determination, completing an incredible 100 km in honour of his mum.

His courage, perseverance, and unwavering love made him a truly deserving recipient of this award, and an inspiration to everyone at Melton City Relay for Life.

For anyone concerned about the recent events, sharing this post from the police page.

We know many of you are highly concerned about the recent deaths of two young males in Cobblebank and your safety in the local area.

The Homicide Squad investigation into the deaths is ongoing and is being treated as a priority.

To provide community reassurance, we have increased our police presence in the area, will have additional patrols over the coming weeks, and there will be an additional police presence at the Cobblebank Basketball Stadium this weekend.

We are also meeting with the local schools, council and community leaders to see if there is anything else we can do to support the local community.

We are doing everything we can to make you feel safe and solve this senseless crime.
