The Melbourne Women in Film Festival is a not-for-profit festival aimed at celebrating and supporting the work of women and gender diverse practitioners in Australian screening industry – from directors, writers and producers to cinematographers, sound designers and editors. This annual festival endeavours to promote the many talented women who work within all areas of film production, and to encourage and inspire women with creative aspirations to pursue their passions with confidence.

EOI MAV X ACMI X RIAR WORKSHOP 🎬

MAV (Multicultural Arts Victoria) and ACMI are bringing internationally acclaimed Indonesian artist and filmmaker Riar Rizaldi to Melbourne for a rare two day workshop, short film screening program and presentation of his award winning feature Monisme.

The workshop is designed as a space for conversation and reflection for filmmakers and artists who might be feeling stuck in their practice, working through creative blocks, or looking to deepen and sharpen their artistic approach.

Selected participants will receive:
✨ A $200 stipend for attending both afternoon sessions at ACMI
🎟️ Complimentary tickets to all of Riar Rizaldi’s screenings in October

’s Freshly Squeezed Shorts is an exciting odyssey of the latest and best short films from our region, and this year, that included Aotearoa-based Rachel Macindoe Baker’s CHRYSALIS.
