Pickleball Alley

To the PA community,

I have made the decision to step back from running pickleball at this point in time. This decision was not easy however necessary due to personal and family reasons.

Some sessions will still be running as community members have asked to run the sessions in my absence. If you are interested in running a session please reach out, I am happy to help and provide equipment.

For those with credits, I am working through this with opensports. I believe the funds have already been paid out which means I am not in a position to pay out every single player with credits, however I am looking to organise some credit sessions in which you can use these credits up.

I don't believe it's an end. Just a transformation- new year... positive changes.

I will never ever be able to thank everyone enough for the support, encouragement and laughs we've had. I am here because of all of you.

Weekly Update 27th October- 2nd of November

I will be closed for the long weekend from Saturday through to Tuesday starting back up on Wednesday. The sessions are all up accordingly.

Congratulations to Jacque & Paula who won Bronze in the MLP money ball on Sunday down @ Dinx in Geelong. Huge well done and triumphant effort to all players who entered & fought hard. P.S I miss things, so let me know if you've secured yourself some new jewels or achieved something you're proud of!

2. Caroline Springs on Fridays (10 am - 12pm) have finished for the year

Weekly Update 13th - 19th of October.

Another fantastic weekend for PA players!
Congratulations to Shirley & Nicky winning silver and Jo & Cody winning Silver in the Double trouble comp over the weekend. A big congratulations to Kevin for also scoring a silver in the bayside tournament.

Well done to all participants and players who tried their hand at playing competitively for the first time.

A core pickleball memory! If you know me you’d know I’m not a comp player. I struggle to overcome high expectations and go into emotional turmoil. It makes me question why I play pickleball. It’s something I do for fun, fitness and for my mental health. But the turmoil takes all that away for me. I’m often perceived as a sore loser, what is actually happening is deep internal conflict and personal judgement on my own self.

At the beginning of winter Jo asked me if I wanted to play In the APC. All I heard was HoLiDaYs then realising I’d agreed to a tournament.

The first photo is Jo and I pre event and then post event recieving a bronze medal. And I’m proud, not of the medal but of myself. For overcoming anxiety in that moment. For working through mental mindset. For being confident enough to wear a skirt proudly. For showing up and locking in. For practicing patience and trusting the process. I’m proud of Jo and I working as a team and forever grateful to Jo for encouraging me and building me up and having confidence in my ability when I don’t.

Thank you to Mark & Tan for being there and encouraging us and coaching in time outs. And to my best friend Jen and Nick for being so supportive. And also to the Pickleball Alley community for relentlessly showing up and encouraging not just me but each other.

I am thankful for moments of growth. And I may just play some more of these competitions! - Alice.

And, we're back! 🌞 into full swing starting tonight. I'll share the session details below.

What an amazing time up in Pimpama QLD, playing in the Trilogy Australian Pickleball Championships. Jo and I worked super hard to bring home a bronze in the 19+ women's 3-3.49, and Jo continued to work hard bringing home a silver and gold. Tam secured a few medals along the way too! I am sure I've missed achievements from players (sorry!). The Victorians played so well up there and it was fantastic to watch. Well done to everyone who joined in the fun and hustled hard on the court. Thank - you to the organisers and sponsors who put on a fantastic event.

This weekend the double trouble tournament is on over at the state pickleball centre. Best of luck to all who are playing, and have fun.

WOW! What a weekend for the Pickleball Alley crew & Brisbane. Spread across 2 tournaments - 1st annual FCTC open & Ballarat grand final weekend tournament and Kingstons Junior Tournament with players bringing home bronze, silver & golds well done all and congratulations 👏.
