Wh**ky Abbey 2026 masterclasses are here 🛩️

The first release brings together distillers, wh**ky makers, founders and special guests from Australia and around the world across Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 November.

Masterclass tickets go on sale to the public on Friday 18 September.

Festival ticket holders will receive early access from 12pm on Thursday 17 September.

To receive early access, you must purchase your Wh**ky Abbey Festival ticket by 4pm on Wednesday 16 September. If you haven’t secured your festival ticket yet, now is the time.

Places are limited and masterclasses have sold out quickly in previous years. This is only the first release, with more masterclasses, special guests and festival activations still to come.

Wh**ky Abbey 2026 Masterclasses

The first release of Wh**ky Abbey Destinations 2026 masterclasses has arrived, bringing together distillers, wh**ky makers, founders and special guests from Australia and around the world.

Masterclass tickets go on sale to the public on Friday 18 September.

Already have your Wh**ky Abbey Festival ticket? Ticket holders will receive early access from 12pm on Thursday 17 September, giving you the first opportunity to secure your preferred sessions.

To receive early access, you must have purchased your Wh**ky Abbey Festival ticket by 4pm on Wednesday 16 September. If you haven’t secured your festival ticket yet, now is the time.

Places are intentionally limited and masterclasses have sold out quickly in previous years. This is only our first release, with more masterclass announcements, special guests and festival activations still to come.

Tasmanian wh**ky with a distinctly American influence.

We’re excited to welcome Rosevears Distillery from Tasmania’s Tamar Valley to Wh**ky Abbey Destinations 2026.

Rosevears takes a different approach to Australian wh**ky, combining 100% Tasmanian-grown grains with techniques inspired by American wh***ey making. Their Three Grain Wh***ey brings together Tasmanian corn, rye and malted barley with maturation in new toasted and charred American oak - creating Tasmania’s first “Bourbon-Style” wh***ey.

It’s a fascinating meeting point between Tasmania and the US, and another great Australian producer to explore at Wh**ky Abbey this November.

Welcome back to Wh**ky Abbey Destinations, Ikawa Distillery.

Hidden high in the mountains of Shizuoka, Ikawa is one of Japan’s most fascinating new wh**ky distilleries. Located at around 1,200 metres above sea level in the Southern Japanese Alps, its remote setting, cool climate and approach to local ingredients give Ikawa a story unlike just about any other Japanese wh**ky producer.

We’re incredibly excited to welcome Ikawa back to Wh**ky Abbey and to have international producers of this calibre making the journey to Melbourne to share their wh**ky with us.

Wh**ky Abbey Destinations takes place at The Timber Yard on 14 & 15 November.

Did you know Wh**ky Abbey has Masterclasses?

Beyond the festival floor, every year we put together a series of smaller sessions where you can sit down with the people behind the wh**ky, hear their stories and taste some rather special things along the way.

Over the years we've welcomed people including Yumi Yoshikawa from Chichibu, Australian wh**ky pioneer Bill Lark, Glenfarclas' Ian McWilliam, the team from Ikawa Distillery, and some of Australia's best wh**ky makers.

Sometimes it's a deep dive into one distillery.

Sometimes rare cask samples appear.

Sometimes things get considerably more ambitious.

And we're doing it all again in 2026.

We're not ready to tell you what's in the programme just yet.

But we can tell you this:

There are some very interesting people coming to Melbourne.
