Roads affected include sections of the course around Mackay Harbour, East Point Road and Mount Bassett Cemetery Road.

β’ Please follow all traffic controller directions and temporary traffic signage.
β’ Mount Bassett Cemetery Road will be closed to public vehicle access during the event.
β’ Emergency vehicle access will be maintained as required.
π΄ Why the closures are necessary
Hundreds of athletes will be swimming, cycling and running throughout the area, with cyclists travelling at speed on sections of the closed course. The temporary closures are essential to minimise interaction between vehicles and athletes and keep everyone safe.
We appreciate that road closures can cause some inconvenience and sincerely thank local residents, businesses and visitors for their patience and cooperation.
The roads will be reopened as soon as it is safe to do so following the completion of the cycling component of the event.
