Longford Revival The 2016 Revised date will be announced soon

The Longford Revival Festival celebrates an important chapter in Tasmania’s history and a vital part of the history of Longford and its surrounding regions. It is a celebration of the car races that took place from 1953 to 1968 in the town, but it is most importantly a celebration of the people that made it happen.

Very sad to hear the news tonight that we have lost another Longford Legend in Frank Matich. Frank was one of those rare breed who could design and build some great cars whilst also able to drive them very well. Our thought are with Franks family and friends at this very sad time..........R.I.P. Frank

So tomorrow is Anzac Day, a very important day for our country and our fantastic way of life. We owe much to the brave men and women who have served and in too many cases died fighting for the Australian way. So even if you cant make a service or a march tomorrow, please stop for a moment and think about how good this country is and why it is like that. A massive thankyou to all Defence Force members past and present......Respect.

Hi folks, I have already had a number of enquiries as to the date for next years Festival, as yet this hasn't been decided, but in the near future we will be having a planning meeting and that is obviously on the list of things to discuss, we will announce the date as early as we can to allow everyone time to plan to be at the event.

Wow !! what a weekend and with the dust starting to settle, well actually the rain on Monday did that, but you know what I mean, we wanted to take a moment to thank you all for celebrating the Revival with us. The support and positive feedback and kind comments from you all has been amazing and helps remind us how important this event is to a lot of people. We will shortly sit down for a debrief (well ok a meal and a quiet drink) and set some plans in place regarding next years event, we definitely learnt a lot and we already have some exciting ideas, its just a matter of being able to tie it all together without breaking the bank. So once again to all our tireless workers and officials, Legends, Competitors, Families and Friends and of course the wonderful supportive public who voted with their feet, we say a massive thankyou, lets hope we can make the Longford Revival Festival 2016 bigger and better.
