🌾🎨 Show Us the Spirit of the Land! 🎨🌾

We’re calling on artists from across Australia to create works that capture the true heart of life on the land — its people, landscapes, wildlife, stories, strength and community spirit.

From dusty paddocks and native wildlife to country characters and rural traditions, we want artworks that celebrate the deep connection between the land and those who live on it.

This is an open category, giving artists complete creative freedom to tell their own story and showcase their unique style and vision.

We proudly encourage entries from Indigenous artists, sharing artworks that honour Country, culture, people, flora and fauna through artistic expression.

🇦🇺 Celebrate the beauty and spirit of rural Australia

🌾 Calling All Artists, Welders & Creators! 🌾

Could your artwork win $20,000?

The National Farm Art Sculpture Award is searching for incredible metal sculptures that celebrate the heart and soul of rural Australia — from our landscapes, wildlife and farming lifestyle to the spirit of life on the land.

We want bold, creative pieces made predominantly from metal, especially sculptures created using recycled farm machinery, tools and equipment. Turn old farm scrap into something unforgettable!

This is a non-acquisitive award, meaning you keep ownership of your artwork even if you take out the major prize.

🏆 1st Prize — $20,000 CASH

🎉 Spirit of the Land Festival 2026 - Dates Confirmed! 🎉
🌾 Celebrating 20 Years with a $20,000 Major Sculpture Award 🌾

We’re thrilled to announce that the iconic Spirit of the Land Festival will return to Lockhart on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October 2026 marking an incredible 20 years of celebrating rural creativity, community, and culture.

To honour this milestone, the festival’s flagship National Farm Art Sculpture Award will double its prizemoney to $20,000 in 2026. This major award recognises two decades of artistic excellence, innovation, and the extraordinary talent of artists who transform reused materials into breathtaking works inspired by the Australian landscape.

Since its beginnings in 2006, the Spirit of the Land Festival has grown into one of regional NSW’s most respected cultural events, attracting artists and visitors from across the country. The 2026 festival will once again showcase:

✨ Large-scale farm art sculptures
🎨 Fine art and photography exhibitions
🛍️ Curated markets
🎶 Live entertainment
🌿 Open gardens
👨‍👩‍👧 Family-friendly activities
…all set against the beautiful rural backdrop of Lockhart.

The expanded prize pool reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting artists and celebrating the creativity at the heart of rural Australia.

More details on sculpture entries, artist submissions, and the full festival program will be shared in the coming months, stay tuned!
