Due to SES advice to Stay indoors, the Ballina Indoor Sports Centre (BISC) and Lennox Head Cultural Centre will remain closed this weekend for the safety of our community.

We expect both facilities to reopen on Monday, pending further updates.

⚠️ Updated Opening Hours - the Cultural Centre will be closed Thursday 6 and Friday 7 March ⚠️

Due to severe weather, we will be closing tomorrow and Friday. See post below for full details about changes to Ballina Shire Council services.

🌀 Tropical Cyclone Alfred Update: Temporary closure of Council facilities

🏛 Council Customer Service at 40 Cherry St will remain OPEN.

⚠️ Due to severe weather, there’s some changes to Council facilities and services:
Shire Libraries, Northern Rivers Community Gallery, Burns Point Ferry, Community pools and Ballina Indoor Sports Centre are closed until further notice.

The Ballina Visitor Information Centre and Lennox Head Cultural Centre will close on Thursday 6 and Friday 7 March.

♻️ The Ballina Resource Recovery Centre is open today but bin collection for Thursday 6 and Friday 7 March has been postponed. Our collection drivers will be back collecting your waste as soon as it’s safe to do so.

✈️ Ballina Byron Gateway Airport – All flights cancelled for Wednesday and Thursday. Check with your airline for more updates.

🏖 Beaches – 4WD access to Seven Mile Beach closed. Dangerous surf - no lifeguard patrols in place. For your safety, please stay away from all waterways!

🚰 Minimise water use – Reduce kitchen, shower and toilet use to ease strain on wastewater systems.
