It's been a while since I've made one of these, but these are what is called a passive crossover network and are used for separation of frequencies to send to the right speakers. This is a 3 way crossover with attenuation to match the speaker outputs.
The origional powered amplifier modules from these mackie speakers are renowned for popping and this modification will enable these to be run directly from an external amplifier. All that black goo is an adhesive to keep all those bits stuck to the board and not rattle off.

Life after death. The resurrection. It will beat again. I feel like a surgeon when I do this task sometimes. I can help others too if they need surgery on their dead sound equipment.

Some things are almost timeless in their quality. The Nexo PS10 system is one of them. consisting of an LS500 15" Bandpass sub and 2 x 10" PS10 top speakers, powered by the proprietary PS10 tri amplifier, this system packs a punch for its size and a sound quality which has been admired worldwide for decades now. Perfect for anything from a house party to a band system in small venues. MASound has 2 complete Sub/tops/triamp packages and 10 single ps10 cabinets with proprietary TD system controllers and Lab Gruppen amplifiers. Great for use as monitor wedges also.
