🎸We are excited to announce to our Friday Night line up 🤘Foreign Films are a Launceston, Tasmania-based rock trio crafting emotionally charged, melodic alt-rock built on dynamic contrast and lyrical vulnerability. Their sound moves between atmospheric restraint and cathartic intensity, often expanding into a larger-than-life wall of sound shaped by interplay rather than excess.
Drawing influence from artists such as U2, Radiohead, Jimmy Eat World, Gang of Youths, Holy Holy, The Killers, Kings Of Leon, and The National, Foreign Films balance anthemic weight with introspective detail. Their music is grounded in honesty—songs that lean into emotional ambiguity rather than resolution, carried by strong melodic cores.

Since forming, the band has released a series of singles including “Lover”, “Netflix”, and “Graceless”, each exploring different shades of modern disconnection, longing, and emotional friction. Across recordings and live performance, their identity is defined by contrast: spacious, atmospheric passages giving way to dense, immersive peaks.

On stage, Foreign Films are known for a sound that expands well beyond a three-piece format—undulating between tension and release, intimacy and impact. The result is a set that feels both tightly constructed and unpredictably alive.

🪕The Embers have become one of Tasmania’s most sought after live bands attracting a diverse crowd not often seen in the same room together. The 5 piece blends a heady mix of reggae, funk and dance all wrapped up in a kicking high tempo live show. It doesn’t matter who you are or what floats your boat, if you catch the group’s live show then you’re going to find something to connect to. The bands’ appeal has
also opened doors for The Embers to support some amazing international and national acts such as The Violent Femmes, Ash Grunwald, The Beautiful Girls, Bomba, The Red Eyes, Lior and Faker.
