Marking the start of spring each year, Junction is an intimate celebration of Tasmanian community and creativity, inspiring audiences through exciting and diverse performances of art, music and dance. Junction is a festival in which contemporary art and music break out of theatres and galleries into the streets, public spaces and extraordinary buildings that make Launceston so unique.

Junction Arts Festival is saddened to hear of the passing of Greg Leong.

Greg made a significant and lasting contribution to the arts in Lutruwita/Tasmania. Across many roles and contexts, he championed ambitious ideas, supported artists, and helped create spaces where bold, thoughtful work could thrive.

As both a leader and an artist, Greg brought a distinct perspective to his practice - one that was inquisitive, generous, and unafraid to challenge. His influence can be felt in the many communities and creative lives he intersected with over the years.

He will be remembered for his deep commitment to the arts and to the people within it.

We extend our sincere condolences to Greg’s family, friends, and all who were part of his world.

Calling all Artists! 2026 Junction Arts Festival Artist EOI

Interested in being a part of the 2026 Junction Arts Festival program?

Expressions of Interest are now open for artists to join the Junction Arts Festival 2026 program.

We’re looking for creative and inspiring artists to help us bring Launceston to life with art that connects, excites, and challenges. This is your chance to showcase your work at one of Tasmania’s most vibrant festivals, held in unique spaces around the city.

We encourage artists at any stage of career to apply as well as musicians, makers, thinkers and dreamers.
Arts or community organisations are also welcome to apply.

Junction will be held in Launceston on the Spring Equinox (17 - 20 September 2026) in Lutruwita/Tasmania.

If you've got ideas, tell us about them in as much detail as possible below.

It's the final day of Junction Arts Festival and wow what an amazing last 2 weeks it's been. Our final day begins at with Resonance Rising bright and early at 8am 🌅⁠

Then take the kids over for a morning at with Glow and Tell by after that grab your cowboy boy boots for 's Giddy Up, line dancing for everyone in the Fountain Pavilion 🤠 Catch your last hoorah of FREE live music in the Pavilion then head for a final drink at before seeing the last of our circus performers! ⁠

Get around the final day of Junction it's going to be the perfect way to wrap up what has been a fabulous festival!

Come one, come all! Today is DAY 3 of Junction’s second weekend! It’s the most jam-packed day of them all!

We begin with something for the little ones - Glow & Tell at Du Cane, then we suggest heading straight to Launceston Art Walk is great for locals and non-locals alike - get a guided tour that offers a fresh perspective on Launceston’s dynamic arts scene. Artists at the Table is tonight, which will power you up to check out our amazing Saturday musicians at the Fountain Pavilion, right after Bron Batterns amazing Waterloo show.

We’ll be going into the early morning, with , QT Cabaret, Rooke’s Nook, Blossom Jazz Quintet, and another night of CLUB GAWJ fun.

It’s all happening today - the Second day of Junction’s second weekend, and we aren’t holding back! ✨💪

It’s Friday - why not take the arvo off of work, so you can visit ’ mystical Airship Orchestra - before heading to Park Stage to see the freshest local talent. For Whom The Bell Tolls is back today, along with Thrice Cooked Hamm - an ultra-relevent musical number we know you’ll love.

Tonight is your last chance to catch at Junction this year, so be sure to book in! And QT Cabaret have quite a show planned for you. We’ll see you afterwards for CLUB GAWJ - Launceston’s hottest nightclub. It’s the talk of the town!

Today marks the kick-off of Junction's second weekend. Swipe to see the schedule!⛲️ 🎉

Tasdance's INFLUENCER will be lighting up Earl Arts Centre from 1-2 pm, leaving you enough time to duck into Wonderground or Shrine of Connection before 's community engagement with .dance We Are All Stardust... at Prince's Square. Then watch 's performance For Whom the Bell Tolls as she celebrates the power of hope, ringing across Prince's Square. Don't forget to visit our resident writer at The Little Stint to write you pretty much anything you need!

Later on catch Bruny Island star , with , and under the disco ball at Fountain Pavilion for FREE, and see Rob Braslin's Riff Raffle for a few laughs. Donna Hayze is gonna wrap things up at The Little Stint - so make sure you're there!

We danced, we laughed, we created, we clapped and cheered. It's been amazing to reflect on the last 15 years of Junction Arts Festival, and we're so grateful for all who have been a part of it. What a great time!

We can't wait to bring you all back on Thursday to resume the celebrations, get ready for another great weekend!

Let's keep the good vibes going! Today is day TWO of the first Junction weekend 🎉 Thanks to all of you who came along yesterday, what a great way to commemorate a 15 years.

Today we're amping it up with a number of fun events for everyone. Don't miss the Awakening Ceremony at Prince's Square at 6pm - this ceremony becomes a powerful activation, where we walk together as one, honouring the waters and the spirit of fire.

Then, we'll be dancing the night away at NO INFO... Trust me, you'll want to be there. And don't forget, our Speakeasy - The Little Stint - is free before 9pm!
