DEAR CHARLOTTE…
It was the race that had the nation talking and glued to their screens, it was vision that would be shared on social media around the world. It was Sha’Carri Richardson, the 100m World Champion, Olympic 100m silver medalist and 4x100m gold medalist against you, Charlotte Neilsen, winner of the Women’s Sprint at the Community Bank Lancefield and Romsey Lancefield Gift… and what a race it was! You stormed through the heats and the semis and went into the final as one of the biggest threats to one of the worlds greatest runners. Under the gaze of every athlete and fan in the country, the pressure on a 19 yo must have been immense, but what did you do? You ate it up, you went out and ran the race of your life going faster than any other women in Stawell Gift history to go down in a photo against one of the worlds best. What a moment! In the media whirlwind that followed around the country that night it shouldn’t be forgotten just how amazing your performance was! As the women’s sprint winner at this years Lancefield Gift, we were so proud of you and thrilled that you are a part of our history. Now we look forward to watching you go out and create your own history. Good luck and well done!
Regards, The Lancefield Gift.

LANCEFIELD HIGHLAND GAMES…
Our first Community Bank Lancefield and Romsey Highland Games on Saturday saw Fran Fitzpatrick take home the sash after dominating her events. It’s probably no surprise given she’s already broken 7 world records but she also went oh so close to another one on Saturday. The Caber was carried onto the field in traditional fashion behind the bagpipes.
