Come and create a pop-up opera on Lamb Island, 3rd October 2026! Lamb Island's beautiful lawn amphitheatre will set the scene at Island Storytellers for a pop-up opera workshop with our special guest Professor Anna Reid, Head of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Bring a small prop or costume piece and join the fun as you create an opera in an afternoon & perform it for other festival goers. Ages 14+. Catch Kurrowera to get to Lamb Island!

This just in! Jane Caro's book Lyrebird has been shortlisted for the Ned Kelly Awards! We can't wait to have her at the festival this year, discussing her work.

THE WHITE CROW is keeping some very fine company. It's made the shortlist for Australia's top Crime Fiction Award, the Ned Kelly Award given by the Australian Crime Writers Association. Winner announced next month. Fly baby fly.
