Thank you to the more than 450 people who came together to make GROW 2026 such a joyous day.

Through GROW, we explored how we can better look after ourselves and our community, our animals, our farms and backyards, and our environment.

Across 45 sessions we learned with 48 presenters and the hundreds of others who shared their wisdom and their curiosity through positive and energising discussions, whether from the audience in a hub marquee, out in the paddock or under an umbrella on the lawn, cool drink or ice cream in hand.

GROW puts community – sharing and connecting – firmly at its centre. It is by the community, for the community – the content crowdsourced and the event crowdfunded through pay-what-you-can ticketing and donations.

Thank you to the dozens of individuals and small businesses who contributed through speaking, exhibiting and donating goods, funds, expertise and time. Thank you to Macedon Ranges Sustainability Group committee for governance, insurance and support. And thank you to our volunteers – friends and family – who looked after everyone on the day.

In farming – as in most things – solving problems, coping with adversity and celebrating wins is better together. When the days are difficult, our instinct can be to shut the gate and tough it out. Go it alone.

We know, in our hearts, the opposite is true.

Through coming together we can harness our collective energy to support one another to try new things and feel safe to fail, building resilience to try again.

GROW is about sharing knowledge and building a community to help us all explore ways of farming and looking after the environment for the health of people, communities, livestock and the landscape.

This year, we raised money to put on GROW with pay-what-you-can ticketing and the extraordinarily generous donations of time, expertise and goods from dozens and dozens of individuals and businesses big and small.

🙌 At 5.30pm on GROW day we will auction an amazing catalogue of donations from our partner businesses.

We have some special-guest auctioneers and it will be good fun!

The star items in our GROW auction of promises are:

🦠Nutrisoil: 1000 litres of all-natural vermicast biostimulant RRP $3245 including delivery to buyer

🤺Gallagher: top-of-the-range fence energiser kit RRP $2000

Did you know you can plant your GROW name tag?

We’re doing our best to avoided generating waste at GROW – and especially plastic – but name & place tags help start conversations, so we’ve made them from recycled paper embedded with a mix of native flower seeds

They’re printed with vegetable dies, the thin strip of reinforcing tape on the back is plant cellophane and the cord is h**p and cotton

(Our kitchen-table working bees have been very therapeutic 🧘)

When you get home, find a use for the cord, soak the card in water and plant it

Voila! 🌼🌸🌼
