Unpowered sites $20 p.n. Limited powered sites $25 p.n. No air-cons or heating appliances permitted. Generator hours 8am-7pm. Food and coffee available for purchase on-site. OTHER ATTRACTIONS

Regular attendees at our annual Kyabram RV Country Music Festivals over the years will remember long-time committee member, Norris Bell. He was often driving the water-cart around the showgrounds, topping up caravan and motorhome tanks when water levels were getting low.
Sadly, Norris passed away early in the week of this year's festival. His funeral will be held tomorrow (Wednesday, November 19) at the Living Waters Church in Allan St, Kyabram, at 2pm.

THE CURTAIN FALLS ...

The showgrounds turned into a sea of waving flags during last weekend's emotional closing ceremony at the Kyabram RV Country Music Festival.

Only moments before, president Allan Weeks had announced from the stage that this would be the last festival his committee would be running.

Festival-goers gave a collective gasp of shock as the announcement was made, but quickly rallied for a final farewell to thank Allan and his committee for their magnificent effort in running the annual festival over the years.

The daily walk-ups proved to be a popular feature of this year's Kyabram RV Country Music Festival :)
Run by well-known husband-and-wife team, Rod and Rhonda Owen, the walk-ups attracted around 30 to 40 contestants each afternoon, backed by the Misfits backing band.
Winner was Leah Mahney of Geelong, who gained a guest spot on the main stage on Saturday afternoon :)

Some of the headline acts at last weekend's Kyabram RV Country Music Festival. This was the final festival at Kyabram after a successful run of more than a decade, with volunteer burn-out being cited as one of the reasons for the shock decision.

Sunday afternoon's finale of another successful Kyabram RV Country Music Festival at the local showgrounds was over-shadowed by the shock announcement that this year’s festival would be the last.

President Allan Weeks said the combination of an ageing committee, lack of volunteers, and increasing regulatory requirements had prompted the decision. There were audible gasps of disbelief from the crowd as he made the announcement.

Mr Weeks thanked his team of volunteers for their work and dedication in bringing this year’s festival to fruition, despite the difficulties the committee had faced in the past 12 months.

The annual festival has been running since 2012 (minus a couple of years due to covid and floods) and creates an economic boost for the town with festival-goers spending thousands of dollars in local businesses, eateries and fuel outlets. It also increases foot traffic at the spring market which coincides with the week-long festival.

THE BLUNDELL BOYS COME TO TOWN

Contemporary country music singer Drew Blundell was a stand-out performer at this weekend’s Kyabram RV Country Music Festival.

An emerging talent on the Australian country music scene, Drew is known for his versatile vocal range, dynamic performances, and modern country style.

Drew comes from a strong country music-inspired family, with his close relatives having a combined total of more than 40 albums out on the market.

His uncle Owen Blundell, who is also one of this weekend's top artists, has been a regular performer at the Kyabram country music festival over the years.

Drew will be performing at the Kyabram Showgrounds again today (Sunday) at 2-30pm, with Owen doing a set just before him at 2pm. Entry at the gate is $30 per person. Children aged 15 and under accompanied by a parent are free

The Kyabram showgrounds came alive to the sounds of Irish/folk music on Friday evening when the Goulburn Valley Traditional Dance group hosted an evening of bush dancing on the arena.
Lively toe-tapping tunes were played by the six-piece Ironbark Bush Band (also known as the IronBach Bush Band, for those who appreciate a play on words), while dancers enthusiastically took to the floor -- umm, grass -- under the direction of dance caller JR.
A fun night for both dancers, musicians and onlookers :)

Kyabram's iconic Plaza Theatre hosted a special matinee screening of new drama movie, "The Travellers", especially for those attending this week's Kyabram RV Country Music Festival.
The Plaza Theatre committee and volunteers were thrilled with the response and wish to thank everyone who attended :)
The storyline follows Stephen Seary, a charismatic and successful stage designer, returns to his small hometown in Australia to say goodbye to his dying mother. What was to be a quick trip descends into chaos, drama, and at times downright funny moments as Stephen navigates family responsibilities, a difficult relationship with his father, old friends and past lovers – all while trying to return to Europe for a major opera contract.
The movie will be screened at the Plaza again on Saturday and Tuesday evenings (Nov. 8 & 11) at 7-30pm.
