Just 2 days to go!
A similar message to this will be sent around in an email to competitors, but just for a heads up and also for the public, some important information (apologies for the long post, but please read!):
Your starting point will be our βSign Inβ area, to the right of the double gates at the Koondrook Swimming Pool. Sign ins are open from 7am-8:30am. Here you will get your own individual or team code, which will be written on your arm and leg, as well as on a sticker tag, which is for you to put on your bike for identification purposes and your individual or teams timing bracelet, to go on your ankle.
You can then drop your bike off to the transition area, which is across the road in the Koondrook Tennis Hard Courts. DO NOT mount or ride your bike at any time during the transition area, including during race times when you are racing. You may run with your bike in the transition area, but this is not a riding area!
If you are competing in an individual event, make sure you leave your runners, towel, socks, shirt/singlet (if not wearing a tri-suit) and A BIKE HELMET next to your bike, ready for when you get out of the pool. If you do not have a fitted bike helmet, you will not be participating. It is also compulsory to wear a shirt, singlet or tri-suit during the ride and run leg of the event.
The corner of FOREST STREET and THOMPSON STREET (our transition area) will have the roads closed at 8:30am SHARP. Please be aware of this and share with locals that may be using the roads.
The P&C will be selling different goods from 7am Sunday morning! Get in for a pre-race energy boost! All proceeds go to the Barham High School P&C, so please support this sale! The pool canteen will also be selling instant tea/coffee and their usual food/drinks.
*Parking - there is heaps of parking close by and its free! We do ask that you please DO NOT park on the dirt in front of the Tennis Hard Courts. We also want to leave ALL car parks on the Thompson Street side of the pool free for the safety of our participants and to avoid people needing to move their car during the event. These areas will be blocked off and marked, so please abide by these restrictions or ask one of our marshals if there is any confusion.
There will be parking on the Forest Street side of the pool, down the dirt road on Forest Street or down Main Street.
*Toilets β are located in the Koondrook Pool
*Presentations - will take place in front of the Willow Park function room, within the pool enclosure. Please stick around and congratulate our winners and enjoy our Sausage Sizzle, with meat donated by Barham Meats!
*Start Times β
Sprint distance individual and Sprint distance team: 9 am
Middle distance individual and Middle distance team: 9:30 am
Fun distance individual and Fun distance team: 11am
Biti Bi start: 11:15am
Race briefings for each event will take place 15 minutes prior to each event starting. You MUST be at this briefing - an announcement will be made when these are starting.
*Registrations - We will take sign ups on the day, but please make sure you are early! Registrations are open from 7-8:30am.
*Results - Will be published by timing solutions on the page.
*First Aid - we have a first aid team based at the finish line and they can be called out to the course if needed.
If you need any help see one of our friendly volunteers. Or if you would like to join us in providing your assistance, please see one of our volunteers and we will find you a job.
Lastly, we would like to remind everyone that we are in our second year and still building as an event. We have aimed to improve on key issues we had last year, but would still appreciate any feedback you have to allow us to continue to develop and build the event to be bigger and better each year!
