Kilcoy Show 2026
Stewards of Section 2 of the Kilcoy Show
would like to congratulate those, who in anyway contributed towards making the Prime Cattle section a profitable success once again.
Firstly, a huge thank you to all the trophy donors and sponsors of this section.
Year after year, your continued support ensures we can successfully run this renown part of the Kilcoy PA& I Show Society.
When all donations/ sponsorships have been confirmed we have two amazing women - Robyn Webster & Wendy Smith who then go out and select trophies and prizes for the various classes in the Prime Cattle Section .
This was Robyn's last year in this role. She has decided to hang up her hat after many years. Thank you Robyn.
HLE Smiths Transport & Co - each year these reliable cattle transporters truck our Show Cattle to and from the designated feedlot.
This year it was Pakaderinga Feedlot. Our cattle were returned incident free and on time to our Kilcoy Showgrounds- ready for their judging the following day.
We cannot praise each and everyone of our Prime Cattle
Stewards enough.
Their work commences in April each year - as this is when the cattle are booked in and sent off to the feed lot.
From then on our Stewards are busy behind the scenes getting their paperwork and the cattle yards prepared for the return of the cattle.
These stewards work tirelessly in the yards from the Thursday until Saturday morning of our show. It is the role of the Stewards to ensure the cattle are presented for Judging and the Auction in the correct order and in a timely manner. Saturday morning they are kept busy loading the cattle onto the trucks of the respective buyers.
Having a female Judge was a first for the Kilcoy Show Prime Cattle Section.
Tammie Robinson, well known to many around the Somerset Region, presided over this task - taking time to justify her reasons for her selection of the various winners and place getters.
Tammie also took on the Role of Judging the very popular Junior Judges Section.
Once again, taking the time to give her reasons for choosing the various place getters.
2026 saw a huge increase in the number of entrants in the Prime Cattle Junior Judges section.
Over the three age groups we had 55 Junior Judges partake. Tammie certainly had her work cut out for her.

To all exhibitors who presented Grainfeed & Grassfed Cattle to our Show - thank you.
It was great to see first time exhibitors come on board this year. We certainly hope to see you again in 2027.

Last, but certainly not least, an absolutely massive acknowledgement must go to our chosen Auctioneers - Hayes & Co and also to Vern Doyle.
Vern assisted over the three days with the cataloguing of the various animals and compiling the Judging and Auction Sheets.
This process is very time consuming and detailed as it requires a lot of double checking to ensure the right Animal, is matched to the right class, correct ID numbers and correct exhibitor.
Hayes & Co once again had our Kilcoy Show Societies best interest at the forefront.
They worked hard to ensure they got the best prices for our exhibitors.
The Auction this year was successful and our Prime Cattle Stewards were proud to present back to our Kilcoy Show Society approximately $8,500 in commissions made
from the sales of Cattle.
This gives us a good start as we begin to plan for our 2027 Kilcoy Show

Our Kilcoy PA & I Society would sincerely like to thank each and every Steward of the Prime Cattle section of our Kilcoy Show.
These men & women- year after year virtually run their own program, hold their own meetings...they have been doing it this way for so many years now .
They all have their own tasks, their own roles and they just get in and get their job done.
We thank THEM for THEIR ongoing support to our Kilcoy Show Society.
