Lake Meran Festival 2025

It was a warm day, but locals and visitors made the most of the shade along the foreshore and it was very pleasant with a breeze coming off the water.

Despite numbers being slightly lower than last year the committee were still very pleased with how the day went. There has been lots of positive feedback, with people commenting on how they loved the layout to create more space for people to enjoy the atmosphere.

The music by Elias Lanyon Music and The Side Hustle Cover Band was thoroughly enjoyed by all and it was great to see people dancing this year.

The food and beverage options were also plentiful and well enjoyed.

Everyone was fascinated in ‘Grumpy the Eastern Long Necked Turtle’, Moz Moresi has put so much thought and time into his creation (550 hours to be exact). A guess the weight of the turtle competition was also held on the day with the total weight being declared at 830kg. You could spend hours looking at Grumpy and still see something new each time, he will certainly be a drawcard for the lake bringing in visitors from all over.

We would like to thank all our volunteers both on the day and in organising this event over the last year.
A huge shoutout to our sponsors, we really appreciate all the local businesses that have helped with both financial donations as well as goods and services to help make the event a success. The interest in the longevity of Lake Meran as a special place for people to visit is something our committee cherish, because we know the value Lake Meran has in the district.

The Lake Meran Festival is back TODAY!! Join us from 3-9pm for live music, food vans, local craft beer, wine, and the unveiling of Moz Moresi’s new sculpture “Grumpy the Eastern Long Necked Turtle”. For the kids there will be Face Painting, Turtles Australia and ‘Flip the Turtle’ card game.

Entry is only $10 per head for adults with under 18’s free. A wrist band will be issued at the gate to wear inside the festival, this will also let you in and out of the gates to access the toilet block and to the rest of the lake area.

Please refrain from smoking/vaping in the general vicinity of the food and drink vendors.

There will be a few designated parking areas which will be signed
The Lake Meran Hall, on the right hand side of the Boort-Kerang Rd, will be available for parking.
The tennis club area will also be available for parking
The flood way and the camping area to the left will also be designated parking.
There will be limited parking on the track along side the festival heading towards the boat ramp

We will have EFTPOS available at the gates BUT as phone service isn't always reliable at the lake and some vendors had trouble with their eftpos machines last year it would pay to bring CASH just incase. Some things on the day will be CASH ONLY - we also retain every cent we bring in with cash, there are no fees.

It's been a long time coming, but we're finally ready to share our first batch of spirit in bottle! This is our classic London Dry Gin that you may have tried at festivals over the last couple of months.

We're in love with our labels courtesy of Rachel from Red Sky Designs! She has done an amazing job recreating the Lake Meran landscape.
