In My Studio

Welcome to our newest Kalamunda Artisan Market feature, In My Studio, where we will be going behind-the-scenes of our stallholders, and providing an in-depth insight into their story.

Simply visit the website to find the Studio on our homepage, or click the button on one of our featured stallholders to find out more about your favourite creators, such as Handwoven by Kjerstin.

In our first feature, Kjerstin writes: My studio started out with just a small part of our shed, but with each new loom it has grown.

It now houses three floor looms, all the equipment needed for weaving, lots of books and magazines and of course a great, big collection of yarns.

All my yarns are made from natural fibres, sourced from both Australia and overseas.

We are proud to have Emi and Jacinta joining us this Saturday to help with a very special community initiative to save the Black Cockatoo.

Emi and Jacinta are year 9 students from Helena College, who are partaking in a school passion project involving raising awareness and money for endangered species in Western Australia. They will be raising money for black cockatoos and will donate all profits to the fabulous team at Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre.

This Saturday, they will be selling black cockatoo themed paintings and bookmarks, as well as hosting themed raffles. They will also be giving away pamphlets about the black cockatoos with information about how people can help them.

Please come along this Saturday and show your support. You'll find them outside Gourmet Corner from 8:30 - 2:00.
