This hat might be a vibe, but it's only a vibe in one of my workspaces, not both.

The 'I literally don't know what I'm doing' vibe is fantastic if you're coming along to one of my creative mother circles & social events because you don't need any experience, just curiousity and trust to come along and have a great time!

But it is not the vibe to bring along to the birth space. Listen to the video for more info...

Does this resonate at all?

Ps. Head to our bio for tickets to our upcoming mother's circle at .bookbouquet x

When I say that I get pinch me moments almost every shift, I'm not being dramatic (although full transparency, I am qualified BFA drama queen).

I've been doing this work for close to two years and it still hasn't gotten old.

This work, my birth & postpartum support work (now officially doula work) is in a state of constant evolution. My offerings, skillset and knowledge evolve alongside and thanks to the families I work with.

My first official client started as a three month contract and turned into working together for a year and a half. That client still cheerleads for me to this day, which is the sweetest kind of privilege I never thought to expect.

Soon I'll be supporting a client for a second time, which is a ridiculous pinch me moment, knowing I'm being entrusted again to support the family through birth and early postpartum once again.

Those bigger, more measurable ones count, but so do the little ones in between. I've listed a few here in the carousel, but I have so many more I could recount.

To the families that have already entrusted me and the ones I'm yet to meet, thank you thank you thank you.

I'll never take this work for granted and hope I can continue to evolve with you all for a long time to come.

Just a small business owner testing the algorithm and how weird y'all are...

I accidentally sped up this clip while editing earlier this week and now I can't stop playing it at double speed so you are welcome!

My hip squeezes really are fantastic btw (and so are doulas generally).

If you're pregnant, you should consider finding one to support you - just saying!

I'll see myself out now, happy Friday x

I'm getting a little freaky this Friday and sharing five unprompted ways my husband has kept things spicy lately, that have nothing to do with you know what.

[except for the last one that might be a bit you know what]

Why am I sharing this information?Because something I have noticed with my clients over the past couple of years and a lot of mums I work with in the community is the sticky subject of the mental load, equitable load and then as a result, the quality of their relationship. It's not isolated to one family which has me convinced it's more of a societal issue than a personal one. Sharing ways I've found my partner to be helpful and how we keep the spice alive might help others in a silly but informative way.

All of these little things contribute to the strength of our relationship and intimacy.

It's been sixteen years since I met this guy and I still can't keep my hands off him. His willingness to approach parenting with open arms has helped, but I've also had to become more transparent over the years about where and how I need help. I also do my best to ensure the comms are open the other way around too and that he feels heard and helped when needed.

All of this has helped strengthen our relationship, unburden my mental load a little bit and demonstrate to our kids that parenting and household stuff is not just a mum thing.

If you want help with this kind of stuff but don't know where to start, couples therapy (talk and otherwise) is never a bad place to begin. You might also be surprised at the free resources available through health services online and in person. It is a sign of a health relationship, not a broken one, it to be willing to work on strengthening it together.

A resource I keep finding myself referring to lately when people say I'm just so me and different these days etc etc or ask me how I came about understanding I was neurodivergent, I point them straight to this resource:

⏭️

This wasn't the only thing that had me wondering as its been a process over a few years, but it helped fill in the gaps, feel so much validation/ not aloneness and gain the courage to seek a diagnosis for Autism which was finalised in August last year (with markers for ADHD that I need to get around to formalising eventually 🤣)

Since then I've been unmasking and understanding my needs and supports. Akwardly at first, but now gloriously and no longer feel weird having to support my sensory needs and do things differently so that my nervous system is more supported. As a result I feel more equipped to sustainably support my families needs and my clients in the longer term.

I'm not associated with the podcast in any way, I just bloody love it and thank .mitchelson.nd.psych especially for being a shining light in this space and sending ripples of change out there that she doesn't even know about.

+ stick it out to the end to find out how I get my glorious curls 🤣

🫶🏽 free offering, spots limited 🫶🏽

motherhood: a creative practice

her spark wasn’t going to be lost to motherhood, it was going to be found.

• Happening again 9:30am, Tuesday 3rd February(AEST)
• Fortnightly online circle hosted by
• Exploring the concept of motherhood as a creative practice
• No creative experience required
• PJ’s & children are welcome

This concept has been floating around in my head rent free for a while now and what’s landed is to begin by offering a safe space to explore the concept of unexpected ways to bring creativity alive in motherhood and set fire to the spark that is ready to be lit within every mama.

Accountability, vulnerability and joy.

Our first session was wholesome and inspiring. It has also inspired the theme for next week’s session: Imperfection 🙋🏽‍♀️

Interested? Send us a DM and we’ll get you ready for our next session, commencing next Tuesday morning x
