This weekend at Ipswich Showgrounds, 12 & 13 September, enjoy the extraordinary sights, sounds, and aromas of times gone by at History Alive: A Journey Through Time, presented by Queensland Living History Federation, as part of Ipswich Festivals Galvanised Festival of Heritage.

History Alive is a great event for the whole family to experience 2 days of live music, festive dance, and intriguing displays. Immerse yourself in the histories and cultures of Roman, Viking, Medieval, Napoleonic, Colonial, Victorian and Modern Eras, and witness spectacular battle re-enactments of Crusader Knights, Napoleonic Cavalry, and combatants from WWI.

🏆 FROM IPSWICH SHOW TO REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVE! 👏

We couldn’t be more excited to celebrate our very own Madeline Toft, who has been named the 2026 West Moreton & Brisbane Valley Sub Chamber Rural Ambassador!

Madeline represented the Ipswich Show Society over the weekend with incredible passion, confidence and enthusiasm, and we’re so proud to see her take out the Regional Rural Ambassador title! A huge congratulations to Maddie, and to Leonie Nichols from Toogoolawah Show Society, who was named Runner Up.

Ipswich Showgrounds was proud to host the Regional Awards, bringing together Show Societies from across the region to celebrate the outstanding young people participating in the Showgirl and Rural Ambassador programs and helping shape the future of Queensland’s agricultural show movement.

A huge congratulations also goes to Showgirl winner Nicola Miners from Gatton Show Society and Runner Up Alison Boettcher from Boonah Show Society, who both represented their Show Societies with pride and passion throughout the Regional Awards.

🚨 IMPORTANT MARKET UPDATE – IPSWICH 6TH SEPTEMBER 🚨

It is with a very heavy heart that we have made the difficult decision to CANCEL this Sunday’s Southside Collective & Preloved Market at Ipswich Showgrounds. 💜

Unfortunately, both Andrew and I have been extremely unwell and have now tested positive for COVID and Rhinovirus. 🤒

We are genuinely devastated. We know our sellers have been preparing, packing, creating and getting ready for Sunday, and we were looking forward to another great morning with our Ipswich community.

But sometimes health simply has to come first. 💜

With so much sickness already going around, the last thing we want to do is risk passing this on to our sellers, vendors, their families or our beautiful market community. Cancelling is not what we wanted to do, but we believe it is absolutely the responsible thing to do.

To everyone who booked, shared our event, planned to visit, or supported us we are sincerely sorry. 🙏

We hate letting our community down, but we'd much rather miss one market than share a few unwanted germs with everyone! 🦠😷

Thank you for your understanding, kindness and continued support.

We'll rest up, kick these bugs to the kerb and be back doing what we love very soon. 💜💜

THIS WEEKEND 📣 The 30th edition of Queensland Model Hobbies Expo showcases all forms of scale modeling in Queensland at a family oriented event. There are club displays from Queensland and northern New South Wales, as well as a wide range of retailers in attendance. Each year, the QMHE incorporates the annual Queensland Scale Modelling Championships, with over 70 categories in 15 genres.
