Good Evening folks. QMHE 2026 has just rapped up, and as I sit at home aching from 3 solid days on my feet, I hope everyone has had an enjoyable weekend. Despite a number of challenges across the event, my committee endeavoured to provide a positive experience for everyone. A couple of highlights from our perspective were; the record crowds that attended on both Saturday and Sunday; we have never had a start to an event like Saturday morning! A huge thank you to everyone for your patience. Rest assured, we have already discussed and will put in place practices to ensure the delays should never happen again. A record number of 705 competition entries on the tables proved a challenging task for our volunteer judges, but they handled it superbly. Entries came from far North Queensland down to Sydney and beyond; and we are extremely humbled by the extent of everyone's efforts to attend.
Our show can never be the success that it is without our most fantastic supporters, and I have provided a photo of our banner recognising all those who financially support us. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
I'd also like to acknowledge The Ipswich Show Society for it's continued support to us; the local radio station, River 94.9, Mayor Theresa Harding, along with a number of other local sites, for advertising and pushing our show on their individual platforms. It's with this support, as well as the response from the general public, that this show has reached it's 30th Anniversary. Not sure I'll make it to another 30, but hopefully the show will. All the best.
David de Ryck / 2026 QMHE Director.
