Introducing our 2025 lineup! Steve Cook and Jem Dunlop!
Steve Cook has performed around the east coast folk scene for well over 45 years. Over the past 25 years he has performed with Irish band Tulca mor, Manouche jazz group Mystery Pacific, Acoustic jazz ensemble Mystrel, and recently with Alan Kelly and Irish group the Barleyshakes as well as accompanist to many solo performers. His love of Irish and old time music stretches back to Planxty, the Bothy Band and Doc Watson, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and the New Lost City Ramblers from the 70s. These days he performs on fiddle, mandolin, guitar, clawhammer and three-finger banjo, tenor banjo, bouzouki and a variety of other strings.
Jem Dunlop (guitar, fiddle, mandolin) is a versatile musician and a sought after accompanist. Over the years he has appeared with many traditional musicians including, The Simon Bradley Trio (Scotland), Caoilte O’Suilleabhain, Luke Plumb & Laura Targett, Rob Zielinski, Jenny Fitzgibbon and many more. Recently Jem has been half of the duo ‘Sing’, with Tim Hall, providing accompaniment for weekly community singalongs in Maleny and festivals such as Woodford. An experienced teacher, Jem has delivered guitar workshops at the National Folk Festival, National Celtic Festival, Music Under The Southern Cross, Ceol Aneas (NZ), Maleny Celtic Winter School and more. Jem is a regular tutor at Woodfordia trad school.
Steve and Jem have toured together in various projects, including Musica Viva for 5 years, presenting Irish music and culture in primary school across Australia.
