Circus Akimbo

Bit of a shock announcement: After eight wonderful years, Circus Akimbo will be taking our final bows at the end of February 2022. I (Claire) moved on to a full time position outside the circus industry in 2020, and while I’m still involved with the circus, unfortunately I can no longer juggle two jobs. Although we have a great team of staff keeping things going, and hoped to find a replacement director, sadly we’re facing the end of our lease with no one in sight.

However, we’re not done just yet! We’ll be running our school holiday Circus Camp as usual (17-19th Jan), as well as casual classes throughout Jan/Feb for kids and adults. We’re also planning a big ‘garage sale’ style closing party in February (pending covid safe precautions), so you can take home a bit of the circus and continue your journey, even once the studio has closed.

A huge thank you to everyone who has been a part of the Akimbo journey, and I hope to see you at one of our final classes or events to reminisce on the great times we had!

Our adult classes are back too!

Things will look a bit different this term - we've all been at home for 4 months and are a bit out of practice! Our silks and lyra classes will focus on strengthening and conditioning, and building your skills back up.

Silks, Tuesday at 6pm
Lyra, Wednesday at 6pm

These classes are inclusive - aerialists of any experience level are welcome.

Starting Oct 18, our studio is open for in-person classes - get ready to tumble, juggle, and fly once more! Check out our kids classes and enrol now!

Youth Circus on Tuesday at 5pm and Wednesday at 4pm.
Teen Aerials on Wednesday at 5pm.

Can't make it tonight? No worries! We have another conditioning for aerialists class on Thursdays at 5.15pm.

Our studio may be closed for the time being, but we’ve put together some fun virtual classes for both adults and kids to keep everyone happy and healthy during lockdown - be sure to check out our new timetable on our website!

If you're able to keep up your subscription and classes, we greatly appreciate your support. Just enrol in our virtual classes via your account page as you would in-person!

If you're unable to keep your subscription or just aren't feeling up to classes, no worries - all subscriptions have been paused for the time being and we'll see you again in person.

Class updates: we'll be sending out a newsletter over the weekend with details of upcoming virtual classes to keep you happy & healthy over the next few weeks, but just a heads up that we've paused all youth circus subscriptions for the moment until we have a better idea what term 3 might look like.
