World Amateur 4BBB Champions Tournament We know… it’s a bit of a mouth full, but WACT4BBB stands for the World Amateur 4 Ball Best Ball Champions Tournament. The first of its kind.

This tournament isn’t open to the pros (they get enough of the fun), but instead to teams of amateur golfers

WACT4BBB Tournament Deferred to 2027
A National Event Built on Strong Foundations Will Return Bigger and Better

The organisers of the World Amateur 4BBB Champions Tournament regret to announce that the event has been officially deferred to 2027.

This decision follows two major factors beyond our control:

We were engaged in positive and productive discussions with the Tasmanian Government to sponsor and endorse the WACT4BBB, with the intention of establishing Tasmania as the official home of the tournament. These talks were progressing well and held great promise. However, due to unexpected political instability, we were left with no choice but to suspend all negotiations. While this was not foreseen, it became a necessary step given the current political climate of the Tasmanian government. We remain hopeful that, once stability returns to the Tasmanian government, we can reengage discussions regarding financial support and official endorsement.
Severe and prolonged rainfall across Australia’s eastern and southern regions, including what has been described as a once-in-500-years weather event. These conditions left many golf courses waterlogged and unplayable, forcing clubs to delay or cancel their monthly medal rounds—disrupting qualification efforts nationwide. This extreme weather event placed significant strain on scheduling and logistics and made it impractical to proceed with the 2025 tournament while maintaining fairness and accessibility.
Despite these setbacks, interest in the event has been outstanding, with over 1,000 teams from 512 clubs across Australia registering to be part of the WACT4BBB.

All teams entered in the 2025 tournament can choose to roll their entry forward to 2027 at no cost. Alternatively, if preferred, teams may request a full refund, minus a small service fee charged by our payment processor, Australia Post. This applies to all entrants, including those who did not complete or qualify.

To request your refund, please email [email protected] with:
Your team’s name
Date of payment
Refund account details

The WACT4BBB will return in 2027—bigger, better, and more refined. Clubs will be contacted in advance with the official start date for the 2027 qualifying trials and all relevant details.

We thank all participating clubs and golfers for their support and look forward to delivering a world-class amateur golf event in 2027.

Dear Golfers and WACT4BBB Supporters,
We’re excited to share some major updates that make the World Amateur 4BBB Champions Tournament (WACT4BBB) more accessible, fair, and rewarding than ever before.

• Protecting Your Amateur Status
We’re proud to announce that WACT4BBB has worked closely with Golf Australia to ensure the tournament complies with all Rules of Amateur Status. This means you can compete with confidence, knowing that your amateur standing is 100% protected.
WACT4BBB exists solely to host and manage amateur golf tournaments and sporting events, and we’ve gone the extra mile to keep this event true to its purpose and values.

• Peace of Mind with Our Money-Back Guarantee
We know committing to a new national tournament is a big step. That’s why we’re offering a money-back guarantee (less a small handling fee) if minimum participation numbers are not met. We're confident in the tournament’s growth, and we want you to feel the same.

• The 3rd and Final Qualifying Trials Are Here!
You spoke, we listened. Many of you told us the original qualifying format was too tough, and we’ve taken that feedback seriously.
We’ve completely redesigned the format to make qualifying easier, fairer, and more fun. And yes, all teams are welcome, including those who played in previous qualifying rounds.

3rd Qualifying Trials – How It Works
• Team Registration Opens: June 2025
• Register Online At: www.wact4bbb.com

Your Path to Qualification:
• Play in your club’s Monthly Medal rounds between July and October 2025.
• You can play in all four, but only your best two rounds count.
• Each player on your team chooses their best two Monthly Medal rounds.
• Add together the best two rounds from all four players—this becomes your official team score.
• Submit your team’s score online at the WACT4BBB website.
To Qualify for a Golden Ticket:
• At least one member of your team must place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in their grade (A, B, or C) during a Monthly Medal.
• That player becomes your Team Captain, and your team becomes eligible for a Golden Ticket to the WACT4BBB Finals in Tasmania.
• Two More Ways to Qualify – Just by Entering!

Even if your team doesn’t meet the Golden Ticket criteria, you still have a shot at the Grand Finals:
1. Lucky Draw Ticket: One team will be randomly selected from all teams who enter a score, regardless of result.
2. Early Entry Ticket: Another team will be drawn from the first five teams to submit a score from their club.
So don’t wait—register early, play smart, and give it your best shot. Every team has a chance!

Thank You for Your Support!
The energy and enthusiasm from golfers around Australia has been incredible. With your support, WACT4BBB is shaping up to be one of the most exciting amateur tournaments in the country.
We can’t wait to see you on the course—and maybe even in Tasmania for the Grand Finals!

Warm regards,
Paul Vaughan

Only a short flight from Melbourne lies the picturesque King Island. With a modest population of just 2,000 and two of Australia’s very best golf courses, Ocean Dunes (pictured) and Cape Wickham.

Inspired by the success of Barnbougle Dunes, the owners of Ocean Dunes and Cape Wickham are both hoping to turn King Island into one of the southern hemisphere’s ‘must play locations’.

If you are part of our champions tournament you will get to encounter both Ocean Dunes and Cape Wickham, all expenses paid ✨
