Thank you to all those who attended our final Uprising: Adelaide. It’s been an incredible journey for us as TO’s and it’s been an honour to build this event up and we are very proud of what we as a team and a community have achieved.
With some life changes for the TO team we decided this would be our last Uprising: Adelaide.
Adam’s work commitments interstate,
Josh’s family and work commitments increased,
Simon’s work can sprout high profile events at short notice affecting his ability to commit to the date.
We have had some great help over the years.
-Phil from Dragon’s Lair sponsoring our prizes from the start
-Dale Sumner helped out a couple years in a row
- Josh Diffey judging one year and his support through BCP
-Pete HC helping out last year
-Tom Damin and Smokey Pastures for serving us excellent BBQ
-Bill from Yiros Hub
-Steve from Snag Wagon
-Dave Vickers helping on the bar
-Turramurra rec centre for their incredible flexibility
-Scotty D and Risky Rollers for streaming.
-all the guys who help setup and pack up, we definitely couldnt do it without you.
-The Power Stancers team who have been a great sounding board and support throughout.
2021
96 players at Goodwood community centre, in the midst if COVID we successfully navigated the restrictions only to be one of the few big evebts running in the world. Then to have the weather go from Perfect to hot as hell, sunday having the hall full of smoke from nearby bushfires and then torrential rain just as pack up started. Was an adventure and we were very proud of putting out a big event with quality terrain and mats as well as pioneering WR ordering at 40k events.
2022
126 players —Goodwood community centre.
A much smoother affair with good numbers and thankfully milder weather. Smokey pastures bbq was a huge hit again and we did our first trivia night which had more chaos than the rift. I believe one tie breaker was chucking dice across the hall at one if the TOs.
2023
228 players was a huge expansion for and much mdf was cut and many spray cans consumed. Adam came up with even more ingeniousways to paint the terrain with roller undercoating and jigs for windows. We found a new venue only to be let down at the 11th hour, luckily Turramurra came to the rescue and we bussed players to the new venue which led to a hilarious journey where the bus driver drove over round a bouts and took out signs along the way.
2024
201 players at Turramurra rec centre again.
As we found our feet at the new venue we streamlined the product and had a successful event with the first edition of the Dakka Dakka daiquiri making an appearance.
2025
178/16 players at Turramurra rec centre. No longer the season finale but still a great turnout and great games.
The first time we added the old world event to the mix for 5 rounds. Mostly because Simon had no idea how to play 40K anymore.
2026
173/16 players at Turramurra rec centre, our final year brought us back to year one with some record hot days that even the 6 industrial ACs struggled with but a fantastic group of players attended to farewell the event.
Thank you all again for your support over the years.
It’s been an honour and an adventure.
Sincerely,
Adam Napier, Josh Engelke and Simon Vickers
