Born in 1988, Director KIM Jin-yu is based in Gangwon Province in South Korea and serves as Festival Director of the Jeongdongjin Independent Film Festival.

As a Child of Deaf Adults (CODA), he directed the short film (2014) and the feature film (2018), based on his own experiences. His feature debut (2018) gained attention after winning the Directors Guild of Korea Award at the 23rd Busan International Film Festival.

is his second feature film, which also has been awarded the KBS Independent Film Award at the 30th Busan International Film Festival.
