What a fantastic turnout for the Nathan Lyon Cricket Clinic yesterday afternoon! šŸ

A huge thank you to Cricket NSW, GOATD and Westpac for bringing this incredible opportunity to Gunnedah and inspiring so many of our young cricketers.

Seeing the excitement, smiles and passion for the game on display was a reminder of just how important programs like these are for regional communities. Opportunities to learn from the best help keep our country kids engaged, dreaming big and loving the game.

Thank you Nathan, for taking the time to visit our town and share your knowledge with the next generation. Who knows, one day we might just see some of these young cricketers representing their state, their country, or lighting up the big screen themselves!

For mums, junior cricket is never just about the runs, wickets or results.

It’s the early starts and late afternoons, the car rides to training and games, the last-minute hunt for a hat or a water bottle, and settling in on the boundary for another day at the cricket fields.

It’s the days they come off after a duck, trying hard to hide the disappointment. And on the rare, unforgettable days, it’s watching them make a century or take a hat-trick, the kind of moments that have every mum smiling a little wider.

It’s cheering every run, clapping every effort, helping with the scoring, and knowing exactly when a player needs a few quiet words after a hard day.

It’s watching confidence grow, friendships form, resilience build, and seeing kids learn how to handle both the good days and the tough ones.

Somewhere along the way, cricket becomes more than a game. It becomes shared time, familiar faces, sideline conversations, and memories that stay with you long after the season is over.

This Mother’s Day, we thank all the mums, grandmothers and aunties who make junior cricket possible. šŸšŸ’
