This idea of ours was simple, to create an event for like minded home bakers to celebrate something they are passionate about - CAKE! 🍰
We hoped that The Country Cake Society would bring together beautiful classic cakes, good conversation, warm welcomes and country hospitality, to give our guests an afternoon that celebrates everyday bakers and cake lovers alike.

That belief hasn’t changed one bit, however sometimes things just don’t work out how we plan them.

After a lot of thought and honest conversations (plus a few tears), we have had to make a difficult, and heartbreaking decision to postpone our first event, scheduled for Saturday 16th May.
We simply don’t have the numbers to do it the way we promised you, and doing it half-measure was never an option.

We are so sorry.

If you were planning to come to our event ( or would have loved to but couldn’t make it), and have a moment to spare , we would love to hear from you!
Send us a message or leave us a comment and tell us what drew you to the event in the first place, we’re all ears. That kind of insight is gold to a small operation like ours!

Once again we just wanted to express how very thankful we are for your support of us, and for your willingness to come together and try something new, for the love of cake!
When we have a new date , you will be the first to know.

Thank you for believing in cake, community and country hospitality.

Sending sweet regards,
Julie, Kris and Ash

This is the cake I’m planning on making for our upcoming cake swap this May.

It’s not flashy.
it’s not overly decorated
but it is delicious.

On 16 May 2026 out in the Queensland countryside, at the Boonah community centre, we’re having our very first sweet Cake Swap soirée.

The two Gals from and myself from , have combined our love for cakes and country style shindigs, to bring to you The Country Cake Society.

A bit like a travelling cake shop with a community CWA vibe, complete with cups of tea and homemade pink lemonade, we plan to keep our events rural, intimate, friendly and all about the cake-obsessed chit chat.

And Boonah will host our very first Sweet Soiree. With more planned for other country towns later in the year.

This will NOT be like entering your cake in the Ekka’s Best Cake award. 🤣 And we surely don’t want this to be a fake Insta-worthy show off.
All we want you to bring, is a cake that you have home made with love, and are proud to share with friends. New and old. 👩‍🌾🍰

We would love your support in this new little endeavour because we think there just might be many more happy bakers like us out there, to make it fly!

So, I’d love you to come and try my cake so I can try a slice of yours. 🍰

To find out more and to buy your tickets, please visit our website www.thecountrycakesociety.com.au or click the link in my bio.

Lots of sweet love,

Julie, Kris and Ash. 👩‍🌾❤️🍰

P.s. If you can’t make it to our Boonah soiree but would like us to consider bringing The Country Cake Society to your country town, please leave a comment below with your Aussie town suggestions.

On our way home from the Beaudesert cattle sale yards yesterday we called in to .sweetwater.crays and bought us some live freshwater red claw crayfish (otherwise known as ‘yabbies’) for dinner.
So quick and easy to prepare, cook and clean they really make for a swanky dinner for two.
I bought 1kg of the large size crays = 10, which was perfect for the two of us.
I made a simple creamy mushroom risotto topped with the crayfish, first steamed in white wine and stock, de-shelled and then lightly poached in garlic chive butter. A little shaved Parmesan, a squeeze of lemon and grind of black pepper. Delicious with a chilled Chardonnay on a warm summer evening! 🦞🥂❤️

If you’re out Beaudesert way on a Saturday, be sure to drop in and chat with Alex .sweetwater.crays

Well worth the little detour.

DM me if you want a few tips on how to cook these little babies. 🦞

Lots of things happening here at Frost Farm… not just for the kids but for the grownups looking for a Christmassy end-of-year treat (listen right to the end of the video to find out more ) ☃️👩‍🌾🎄

I’ve always loved a slightly lopsided, wonky Christmas tree. I made this one from eucalyptus branches and decorated it with some baubles celebrating the earthy colours of the Australian bush.
In my happy place right now ❤️👩‍🌾☃️

Today I hosted my first Pink Ribbon event with a beautiful Country Garden Party at on my farm in the Gold Coast hinterland. Every gorgeous pinkly-attired guest brought a homemade cake to share.
So we ate CAKE , drank hibiscus 🌸pink lemonade, played the pop quiz, ran a raffle, fed the cows and admired today’s new-born calf.
But most importantly, we raised $1048 for Breast Cancer research.
This might just have to happen every year from now on! So much fun and a great cause 🌸🩷💕🎀👩‍🌾🎂
